Recently Refurbished Resorts?

Hi all

Could anyone tell me which resorts have recently been refurbished / refreshed / upgraded? (Apologies I don't know if there is an Amercian term for it!)

I only ask as I went on holiday once (not Disney) and stayed in a property that had literally just finished a massive refurbishment, and whilst it was nice and new and clean etc. (the bonus) we experienced a few 'teething' problems - leaky plumbing, etc.

Wouldn't want to experience that on our Disney holiday next year!

The Polynesian resort has been completely refurbished, and from what I can tell, all of the "bugs" have been worked out. I was just there last week and the entire resort was beautiful and our room had no problems at all. I have a link to my resort report, including pictures, below in my signature.

All Star Music just underwent a refurbishment of all of the rooms and was completed in June 2007.

All Star Music now has the privacy curtain which divides the sleeping area from the vainty area.

All Star Music is only value resort that has this curtain.

It is a nice touch and a lot of value guests are excited that All Star Music has the privacy curtain.


I am hoping when the All Star Sports rooms are refurbished between june this year (2007) and Feb. (2008) they will add the privacy curtains to the Sports rooms as well.

Recently refurbished resorts, but not limited to light room renovations would include the majority of the All Stars resorts, Wilderness Lodge, The WDW Swan and Dolphin, The Contemp, The Ploy and currently The Grand Floridian.

Recently called the Swan and Dolphin - the last refurb was 5 yrs ago - they are beginning again on the upper floors.

All Stars so far has Music done and beginning another.

Port Orleans French Quarter and Riverside were refurbished in 2004.

The lightly refurbished rooms should be fine - and it will be fresh and clean.

POP really needs some fresh paint and carpets in the rooms.

Actually, The Swan and Dolphin just completed their $75 million dollar renovations in the Summer of 2006, because I was there in April 2006.

Reservations told me last week that those were the public areas - the rooms (which were part of that) were completely renovated 5 yrs ago and right now are being lightly refurbed with fresh paint etc.

Not my info, directly from the Swan. If you do not believe it, call them and then post what management tells you.

Does not matter to me one way or the other - only trying to share what was told to me when I made a reservation for November. I asked about the rooms because I wanted to be sure to request a refurbished room.



p.s. Have a look at trip advisor and find several negative comments about the conditions of the rooms in 2007.
