I've recently become ill and am trying to prepare for our upcoming WDW trip in May. We leave in 41 days and there is no way we are canceling. Im not sure what's wrong with me, I've had 3 MRI's (brain, neck and spine) and what I believed was a neck disc issue is now what I believe may be vasculitis, but I'm not sure what kind. This week I should know more. I will be getting a second opinion from a spine surgeon, seeing my neurologist and going to the ER if I can't get any relief elsewhere. Has anyone gone to WDW during a vasculitis flare? Any tips? I'm looking into renting an ECV and taking a slower touring plan. My husband will get to drive us to the parks and I will take a back seat so they say.

I am absolutely not canceling this trip, it could be our last trip for a very very long time. My mother has CNS vasculitis and I've seen what it's done to her.

Any tips?

Thank you

Prayers for answers for you. I think answers and some discussions with your doctor will help more than we can. Perhaps he can adjust the steroids and pain meds if it is vasculities to give you the max relief during the trip. I would also be sure that your insurance will pay for an out of network ER visit just in case and maybe carry a copy of your MRI results with you too.

You have a great attitude! Go on that trip! :thumbsup2

Seeing Mickey & friends won't cure your illness, but it will make it easier to deal with your symptoms. Mickey makes all of us feel better! Good luck to you! Keep smiling! :goodvibes

The magic of Disney doesn't dry up and blow away if you're not able to charge around the parks like a type A commando. There are lots of folks on these boards with severe disabilities who come back to Disney year after year and don't feel like we're missing out.

I'm not familiar with vasculitis. Maybe you could tell us what issues it causes for you, and we'd be better able to offer some tips on how to have the best vacation possible.
