Hola, DISpeeps!

Looking for a recommendation for a good server currently in the MDRs on the Wonder. Headed to Alaska with the family soon. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

:)

Freddie (columbia) and Gigi (Hungary) were AMAZING!!!!! May be best serving team we've had in 10 cruises.

Joselyn (From India ) and Maurice (from Philiipines). They did awesome tricks at our dinner table AND remembered all (17 of us ) names.

How does this work, exactly? I assumed we would be assigned a server and that would be it. At what point do you make a request? Thanks for any help! Long time listener, first time caller...

I will put in a second recommendation for Tumi, he's awesome. Ask him about his dancing skills.

If you go to Palo, ask for Leo.

We had Jocelyn at lunch one day and he was awesome! Lots of tricks and so friendly and that was just a lunch!

If you do nothing, you will be assigned a table and a serving team. For most people, that's enough. They don't have any preferences or need special services. However, if you have a server you like (or some look for recommendations because of past experience or things like "good with allergies" "good with small kids") you can call DCL in advance of your cruise and put in a request by giving at least a first name and country they are from; last name is very helpful if you have it. Typically you should request only the server or head server or assistant server - not a whole team as they shift as crew contracts start and end. It is just a request and if they can fill it, your table will be in the requested crew member's assigned area. Alternately, once you are onboard, you can go to where they have dining changes and check the size of the table you were assigned and your dining team and make requests there -- although if you are requesting a server at that time, it is more difficult to move things around as their area may already be full.

I say just be happy whom you get assigned with.

I agree. And don't think that they want to be your best friends. They are humping their rear to make tips, and most of what they do is to maximize those tips, including making you feel special and providing good service.
