Looks like we may need to rent an ECV during an upcoming trip.
Can anyone comment on this company as far as reliability with delivery, quality or issues with ECV itself?
FYI: Not looking to have it come apart for transport.
We're looking at the one that rents for 30/day.

Is it a company you would recommend? Is it a recent rental, like within last 2-3 mos or so????
Any other company (besides Buena Vista) you'd also use?
Does ANY company give a discount for length of time (over a week)??

Thank you very much!

Not within the last 2-3 months, but last Sept, we used Walkers for my mom's ECV. We have also used them multiple times in the past. They are great and I highly recommend them. They always give us discounts for more than 7 days and for partial days. They also offer insurance, which is optional, but we always take it. We already have an ECV reserved for our trip in Dec. For our nine day trip (where we are arriving at CSR about noon and leaving the resort nine days later around 4pm) and with the optional insurance they will be charging my credit card the night before we arrive for $262.00. Oh yes, all their ECVs now have headlights on them, which my mom likes. While I was talking to them the other day, my mom was sitting beside me and started saying she wanted a red one. As I tried to hush her and tell her the color didn't matter, the lady laughed and said no problem, she'd put her down for a red one.:rotfl: Again I highly recommend Walker Mobility. We've used them multiple times and have always received excellent service and a good dependable ECV.

Also not recent, but excellent past experience with this reputable company - and I can't see that their business practices would have changed in any negative way.

I've also used Randy's Mobility and am equally happy with them; ditto for Scooterama.

Hello there!
I have used Walker Mobility in the past and they have been wonderful! I am renting from them again for our upcoming Sept. trip. Have a great time!!:woohoo:

I just used them in May and as usual they were great and so easy to work with. Had several changes to date and time the scooter would be needed and they made all the changes with no problems My scooter was waiting for me at the luggage room just as they said 7am the morning we arrived at the resort.

Have not rented from any other companies as I am so pleased with Walker and their scooters.

I just used them last week. The scooter was waiting for me fully charged when I arrived. I had no problems all week with it and to return it all I had to do was turn it into luggage services before 9:00 am on our departure day. I had used them several years ago when I hurt my back, so decided to use them again after my ankle surgery. I would rent from them again. No issues either time.:thumbsup2

We used them in June and we did have a problem. At the time of rental I was very specific that we needed an ambidextrous scooter as my MIL has no use of her right arm due to a stroke. They did NOT deliver an ambidextrous scooter, my in-laws didn't arrive until evening and once we realized the problem DH tried calling the company no one answered even though it was before 8p. DH finally spoke to them the following day, first they told him they didn't have an ambidextrous scooter available but could bring a power chair with left joy stick. I was not thrilled as my MIL has never used a power chair and we were relying on driving to the parks and didn't think we'd be able to fit the chair in the van with 7 people. They ended up "finding" an ambidextrous scooter and it was actually a nicer newer one so all was well in the end. My in-laws were only there for 3 days so it was kind of a bummer that nearly one whole day was difficult for her.

My recommendation would be if you are reserving something specific or out of the ordinary check it immediately to make sure you received what you reserved. We had arrived much earlier in the day and if we had known it was a possibility we would have checked and possibly could have resolved the situation before my in-laws even arrived.

You probably already received enough positive responses, but we rented from Walker for my grandfather from 6/13 - 6/20 and they were wonderful! He paid the extra for the canopy and insurance (there was a discount if you got both, though it wasn't huge...my grandfather didn't think the canopy was entirely worth it, but that's just because he didn't understand how HOT it was for those of us standing in the sun without it!)
My grandfather had never used one before and found it easy to maneuver...he had a little bit of trouble the first day or two with adjusting to the amount of pressure you have to apply to not go too fast, as he doesn't have much feeling in his fingers. (You can turn the speed all the way down, but even then he was going far too fast to do things like park on the buses)
We loved the headlight, especially on the way to the buses when everyone doing the walk is exhausted and doesn't necessarily notice a scooter coming towards them. There are a few shows where you have to take the canopy apart so the people behind you can see the show; we found this to be easy.
There was one day where a cable to the battery got jostled on the bus and got disconnected, and we had an instruction sheet along with the ECV that quickly told us how to fix the problem.
The ECVs have a knob on the back that you can pull up so that the ECV is in "free wheel" mode, which was helpful for my DH and the bus drivers to park the ECV once my grandfather got out of it. There was also the ability to put it in neutral.
(all of these things are probably on every ECV...I dunno...but we never used one before so it took us a few days to really get the hang of all the features!)

We usually had 12 hour days out in the parks and my grandfather never used more than half the battery. We charged it every night by easily plugging it in to an outlet in our hotel room. It fit nicely between the table and tv stand in the Caribbean.
If you have any questions, feel free to PM me! Working with Walker was probably the easiest part of my trip!
