I'll be at Downtown Disney on Valentine's Day and thinking about making reservations for Wolfgang Puck Cafe. How's the atmosphere and more importantly, is the food worth the price? Thanks!

I ate at the Wolfgang Puck Dining Room for my 15th birthday and the food was amazing! Sadly I got a food allergy from the bread and when I numbed my mouth I couldn't taste my filet. The service was okay. But you definitely got what you paid for. It was delicious!

Puck's Cafe...is just that. A very small cafe that spills out onto a little somewhat secluded patio. It's menu isn't that large (if i remember correctly..salads,sandwiches, soups, pizza) but we had the best pizza during our many visits at Wolf.Pucks. And the price was on par with most of Disney's counter service eateries. I think it was like $6/$7 for the single serving pizza. The place itself is very clean, cute, and tucked back off the street. We sat outside on the little covered patio and the kids sat at there own table. It was nice and relaxing. Also for lunch time...wasn't too busy. We waited maybe 20 minutes for our food. If it's the same one we ate at, I dont see how you'd have to make ressies though.

This sounds like a description of Wolfgang Puck Express at the Marketplace.

The Cafe is actually rather large and is on the Westside. It does have a patio but it is out back and faces the lake. Absolutely tons of things on the menu. Entrees like meatloaf and pasta, sandwiches, pizzas, salads, etc..

An Express adjoins the Cafe as well.

We've always had excellent food at the Cafe and the service has almost always matched.

I was thinking about trying the cafe but I read another thread and it said the cafe is like a chain restaurant. Is this what it is like? My DH dislikes chain restaurants. So I don't know what to do. Can anyone help?

What does he dislike about chain restaurants?

If he doesn't like Bennigan's or TGIF, don't worry. The Cafe is not like either in my opinion.

If he dosesn't like Ruth Chris or Schula's, it's not like those either. ;)

The food is very good, menu extensive and eclectic and service matches the food. No worries. :sunny:

We do prefer lunch as it is less busy. If the thread you read talks about WGP as busy like popular chains, that is probaly accurate for dinner. But the same could be said for any of the DTD restaurants.

We had a wonderful dinner at Wolfgang Puck's Cafe. First time we dined there. Had Cirque tickets and it seemed like a good choice that was near the theatre. You will not be dissapointed. We will definitely dine there again. :)

He is very picky about where he eats because he was a chef. He's not in the culinary field anymore but he's still critical about where he eats.
Thanks for the info. We might give it a try.

We had a great experience at WPC. I would hardly call it even close to a chain restaurant. I had the pumpkin ravioli and it was delicious.

We love WGC. The food is always fresh and hot and full of flavor!!! I love the chicken quesadilla appetizer for my entree. It's pretty big and so good!!! The desserts are very!!! good, too... :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

I do not think that anyone has touchec on the atmosphere of Wolfgang Puck's Cafe.

When there back in October Hubby and I found the place to be visually pleasing, yet it was a bit loud. I will admit that I am a bit hard of hearing, but there were times when I was having a hard time hearing our waitress because of all the background noise. :confused3

Otherwise, the food was great and I know that we'll definetly will be back! :cheer2:
