Recent Visitors- Have Over Inflated Posted Wait Times Affected DAS Return Times?

I'm seeing dozens of people every day post how over inflated the posted return times are, whether that be on the app or posted at the attraction. I know DAS is the return time minus 10 or 15 minutes, but I've been curious if anyone who has visited recently can say whether these "falsely" inflated wait times have been affecting the DAS too?

I am curious about this too. I can’t see how they wouldn’t affect it. If the wait time is inflated, the DAS user will wait longer than the person in the stand-by lane.

Exactly, so I was curious if people are seeing a difference in the return times they're being given vs what the official posted time is.

The DAS Return Time has always been based on the posted wait time. When DAS first started with handwritten Return Times on a physical card, times were sometimes adjusted. Once DAS became digital, the Return Time has been assigned by computer.
We were at WDW from Oct 24 thru November 13. I had read comments about inflated wait times. All of the DAS Return Times we got were assigned based on the Standby wait time in the app.

Thanks! That's what I figured; I was just curious for curiosity's sake because I feel like I see 12 times a day that the wait times are overinflated haha

If it helps, I have had it work in my favor too. We were at Disneyland one day when the wait times were high, but the app was having issues and showing way lower wait times, so we were pulling almost immediate DAS return times because the wait time in the app was showing 20 minutes when it was 45+ in reality and our return times were for 10 minutes later.

Yeah, this is true. It all balances out, basically. For every ride with an overinflated wait time, there will likely be one with an under inflated one.
