Recent Trip - The good, the bad and.....I guess great

Wanted to give my experience on my stay at the Saratoga, and perspective on Bus connections to the parks, since that seems to be a point of contention to many.

Good:
1> Awesome resort. Very quiet
2> Bus frequency "within" the resort (this is a huge resort) was excellent
3> Staff was simply amazing
4> Connection to any park by bus "any" day was < 10 min wait.
5> Buses were "not" packed, except for a Sat, when there was a standing room only for a trip to MK
6> Proximity to DS, and multiple ways to get there (Bus, Boat, Walk).

Bad, and I am stretching here:
1> We were at the "Carousel" area, which is about as far as you can get in the resort. Again.... pro was the absolute peace and quiet even with this con.
2> DS was crowded every day. I mean CROWDED
3> Parks rush was blech....., but expected

Great:
1> Super easy stay with online check in, and not needing to stop at the front desk. Room was IMMACULATE
2> Bits of Pixie dust everywhere. The CM's, every single one we interacted with, were great and this was one time in which I saw several, several people being civil to each other under crowded situations.
3> I saw NO LINE JUMPERS.....yes... I had my eyes open.....

Summary - I would highly recommend SSR and the bus service there. My personal stay was simply amazing. Best of luck on your next trip.
 
Sounds like you had a better stay than we did and we just got back a couple of days ago. I'm not a hard to please person but we had some good and bad experiences but not much stood out as magical. Some was not Disney's fault but we just seemed to run into the occasional "entitled" guest (had a brush-up at the MVMCP with a very rude man, and was also in between a potential flare-up between 2 other guests and that involved a scooter), too many ill-behaved children, and lots of chanting Brazilians. Not our best trip and certainly not even close to December 2013. Glad to hear you had a good time.

we'll be staying there for the first time in august and i've been worried the family wouldn't like it

Wondering why you come to the DIS to loudly complain about:

"Entitled guests"
"Very rude man"
"Ill behaved children "
" chanting Brazilians".

NONE of these are Disney issues.

Yes I think I did state some things weren't Disney's fault. I didn't mention everything but there were a couple of customer service issues. I've been going to WDW since it opened and have been a DVC member for 24 years so I do notice quite a difference in the experience.

I for one appreciate comments on quality of the crowds. Good or bad I like to know.

Understanding the quality of the crowds - good or bad - and presenting in a post it as a rant against Disney, when the issues have nothing to do with Disney, are two very different things.

I honestly don't see it. As the poster said they offered the caveat to be clear everything they were mentioning was not Disney's fault. Rather I took it as just them describing their overall experience. Beyond that I think you have doubled down and made it extra clear.
