Recent success getting USAir voucher for price change????

Has anyone been able to get USAir to send out a voucher for future travel if your airfare went down -- recently????

I have never had a problem doing this in the past. I book our flights when and then keep an eye on the airfare for our flights, if it would go down, I would call USAir, the first person that I got on the line would issue a voucher for the difference that could be used for future flights.

Well, I am having a heck of a time right now. Last week our airfare went down. I ended up making 4 calls to USAir getting a runaround each time. Either they didn't know what I was talking about or they transferred me to another department who didn't know what I was talking about. Finally some gave me a phone number for the refund department -- but when I called that number I got a message that no one could take my call and referred me to the website.

Finally, I sent an email, but did not get a response. And then a couple days later, I saw the fare was back up again.

Well, I leave a week from today and the fare is down again. Basically, this is my last chance since after today, I will be within 7 days of flying. I called and again was ttransferred. Then the person I was transferred to referred to the phone number that referred me to the website. I told the person on the phone that wouldn't work and so he gave me another number for customer relations and told me what menu selections to press. This took me to refund line which I have been on hold for the past 20 minutes!!!!!

I don't even know if this is the right number. I don't want a refund. In the past they have just reticketed me and then sent a voucher. Why doesn't anyone know what is going on. Has the policy changed with the merger with America West????

If anyone has been able to get a voucher issued recently, PLEASE tell me how you were able to do it!!!!!

My call was finally answered by someone who knew what was going on. She said that USAirways no longer issues travel vouchers. So, just a warning to those of you who have purchased tickets in the past knowing that USAir would issue a voucher if the fare dropped.

Apparently the policy was changed. I just wish someone could have told me this about 6 phone calls ago!!!
