Now that the walkway is open I'm reconsidering Paradise Pier over Harbor hotels.

Any recent stays there?

Have they opened any of the shops or restaurants?

Is the pool open?

Is the elevator still a problem?

Does the walkway make it much better than the Harbor Hotels now? Are you still just as close to DCA if you stay at a Harbor Hotel like Park Vue or Best Western?

We're staying at Paradise Pier in August.

I'd also like to know what the hours are for the new DCA entry / Morning and Evening.

For Mornings / Park opening is it still better to go to the Main Gate to enter ?

For exiting DCA is it for any park guests or only Paradise Pier guests.

We're stay at Paradise Pier in October and I have the same questions! Especially since it looks like Extra Magic Hour will be back by then and it would nice to know when to make park reservations on what day and if we can get into DCA for Extra Magic Hour too.

Yes, we're definitely watching for the Extra Magic Hours to start up. That has been a great perk for Resort guests !

Bumping to see if there are any more recent stays at Paradise Pier.

Are the restaurants open, any rooms renovated? Any thoughts about how the hotel is in general right now?

I think I read the new chicken and waffle restaurant will open sometime this summer. No exact date yet. Someone correct me if I am mistaken!

I haven’t heard of anyone staying in a newly renovated room. Doesn’t mean that hasn’t happened though! But I suspect Disney would release some photos when the rooms are done….at least I think that would be a big deal :) I for one am curious to see what they do with the rooms and if they changed the bathroom layout.

I read in another thread on the dis that someone mentioned that in the make shift lobby area they have grab and go food items available. That was awhile back. Not sure if that’s still happening.

I stayed there in January and there was no restaurants open but there was a grab and go room and a small gift shop in the ballroom that they are using for the lobby. No updated rooms yet and the elevators are still a little bit challenging during busy times first thing in the morning but we actually had a great time. The pool at PPH is closed so guests get to use the Disneyland Hotel pool which was for us was a huge plus. They drive you over on a big golf cart which was a huge thrill for my 3 year old. I loved paying PPH prices but getting DLH amenities so much so that depending on the status of the pool we may actually be staying at PPH in June again if we can still use the Disneyland Hotel pool.

We recently stayed there at the beginning of March, and thinks have remained just about the same since January. The exterior painting is still being done (slowly but surely:laughing:), but yeah we didn’t hear anything about refurbished rooms at all, and the main lobby is still closed. I have to say the little grab and go area is very helpful sometimes (if not for just the fuelrod station!). We’re looking to stay here again in about either 3 weeks or at a later time as of now. Will update if anything is new or changed though!

Since the parking garage has no elevators and the front entrance is closed is there a place to pull up to and unload your luggage before parking in the parking garage? I'd hate to drag my luggage down flights of stairs lol.

You pull into the parking garage as if you were parking and you then get your luggage out there, and then you can park your car within the garage. The lobby is very close to where you unload so you won’t have to worry about dragging your luggage down the stairs!

Perfect Thank you!!

I am also considering staying in June. With the discount the price is actually cheaper than the hotel I was looking at on Harbor. Hoping to see if it’s worth it. I really don’t care about onsite restaurants.

I feel if it’s cheaper than a place on harbor Blvd, it would be worth it. You get early entry and can use the PPH entrance/exit to DCA. ☺️ we stayed at PPH last august and while the furniture in the rooms have seen better days, the size of the room was fantastic and the room was clean. Plus, if you have a view of DCA, it’s pretty neat!

Is there still Bell Services to leave your luggage? We have a UK flight back at 10pm on our departure day so want to dump the luggage and chill for a while before we depart for the airport

Yes, we left our bags the morning we left and came back and got them that afternoon before our flight. The drop off/pick up is in the ballroom they are using as a lobby.

I've seen quite a few posts comparing DLH to GCH, but we're trying to decide between PPH and DLH. We can't justify the cost of GCH, but pricing out a 3-day trip in July, there is about a $550 difference in the total package between PPH and DLH for a family of 4. We could do it, but is it worth it? Our kids are 13 and 8, and the main draw is early entry. It will also be nice to be close to DTD, but we stayed at the Westin last year, and walked past both PPH and DLH to get to the park each day, so I know there isn't a huge difference in distance. Can anyone with DLH experience but also stayed at PPH recently (and experienced the inconvenience due to construction) compare the two?
