We just returned from our 6th PB stay this year and it was as wonderful as ever. This trip consisted of my husband our son and myself. I was really looking forward to this trip as it was a birthday celebration for my husband and son and it was also our first stay in a Portofino suite!
We arrived at the resort after a quick 2 and a half hour drive from home. We had to wait till DH got off work for the day so we arrived at 7:30 p.m. Check in was a breeze- no one else in Loews line- so we were soon headed to our room. Noel brought us to our room with our bags - he is one of the nicest people we have met there! What can I say? The room was incredible!! The parlor was huge- it had the sofa and chair and coffe table plus the round table and chairs and the cabinet with televison. It had large closet plus a full bath. I loved the shower in this bathroom! The connecting bedroom was the two queen bedroom. But the best part of the room was the view! It looked right out to the boat dock- it was ten steps away(I counted!). Both rooms were on the ground floor and had french doors that opened onto the bay front. The bedroom had a small wall around it and both patios had a bench and two chairs. It was so nice to sit out there at night and also in the early morning hours. I got up one morning and watched the sunrise- very relaxing.
The minute we got in the room DS crashed on the bed and fell asleep- he was so excited to be headed back to Universal that he had gotten up at 4 a.m. I decided to unpack and DH went out to explore. He returned back to the room at 9 p.m. bearing gifts! He had gone to Bice and ordered dinner for us. The chef was nice enough to prepare something off the menu for us - a veal dish- it was great!! He also got us caesar salads and a wonderful assortment of breads. The meal also included roasted veggies and the potatoes were the best I have ever had. We opened the french doors and ate in the room looking at the bay. DS smelled food and woke up and joined us! It was getting late so after dinner we called it a night. A perfect beginning to a perfect trip!
