Recent menu changes

There are a lot of changes to CRT menus as well. It looks like they really did a refresh on menus across the board.

Don't see the Italian Deli sandwich at Pizzafari! It was there last August...my DH and DS love this sandwich.

But still no meatless options on their children's menu. Vegetarians are really taking a hit! What gives?

Looks like Disney has changed some menu's in anticipation of summer season. I had made a post earlier about Sci-fi changing it's menu in the last couple days and then after checking other menu's of places we are eating next week noticed more changes (50's and Beaches and Cream for sure). Just giving everyone a heads up in case they had their heart set on something. Check the menu's on Disney's site as Allears is not updated yet. I had carefully chosen restaurants based on thumbing as well as them having options for me and my daughters (vegan/vegetarian) and some options are no longer there.
On a whim, I just looked at the Flying Fish menu. It now has a great sounding vegetarian option:

Ricotta, Portobello Mushroom, Epcot Greens, Eggplant, and Herb Crespelle Lasagna
Wilted Vero Beach Red Watercress, West Coast Florida Yellow Tomato Coulis, Fontina-Parmigiano Crema, and Basil-infused Oil

The hot deli sandwich has been gone for at least a couple months now. I know I was so bummed to hear about it because I loved it too. I ordered it there in January, and the CM said "Enjoy it-today's the last day it will be available." I was hoping she was wrong, but a few days later I saw the brand new menu.

Discouraged... Was just talking about what good options for vegetarians Disney has.

Based on our visit this past April, the menu options for vegetarians are much worse at many places and most are not willing to do anything off menu; they will just adapt - e.g., tofu instead of meat in a dish. My best vegan meals were lunch at the Wave, lunch at Rose and Crown, and dinner at Jiko. Lunch at Yak and Yeti was also good and the service was great. Sci-Fi was okay - just a veggie burger; they used to have a great tofu curry but don't even have tofu in the kitchen anymore. 1900 Park Fare was decent; great fun with characters but meal not anywhere near what I had 2 years ago. Dinner at the Wave was okay. Meals at Kona, Trails End, and Biergarten were horrible, especially the first 2. Chef TJ, who is now the head chef at Trails End was on vacation so I didn't get to experience his wonderful service. I didn't expect much from Biergarten; chose it for something different for the meat eaters and was hoping to at least get something that was not on the buffet but no such luck.

After seeing this I also checked out the Sci Fi menu and I have to ask.......WTH is Popcorn Soup? It's now with the buffalo popcorn chicken on the appetizer menu, raising the price 0.50 to 9.49. And you're correct, no Picnic burger. Did notice an interesting In House smoked chicken sandwich and also the salmon BLT is replaced with the salmon now served on a salad sounding combination. And my beloved turkey sandwich with bacon is still there so all is well. Noticed some changes to the descriptions on the 'Ohana menu too.

Oh wow, I did some looking around after I saw this post and I am so disappointed in some of the changes that I'm seeing.

I am in the process of completely redoing my ADR spreadsheet because so many veggie dishes at a number of the places we were going to eat have either changed or completely disappeared! Sigh.

I do appreciate the heads-up from this thread, though. Better to find out now than after I get to WDW!!!!

I hope it's not the same popcorn soup they serve on board the Fantasy (in Animators Palate). Although some like it, I found it "bleh" and would never choose to order it.

:scared: I cannot imagine the flavor but it does not sound tasty!

. . . I wonder why they took so many vegetarian items of certain menus? That makes very little sense to me . . .

1) We have heard a lot of complaints about the vegetarian changes at our Concierge Desk.
2) When we asked at a team meeting, and were told they still will have SOME vegetarian items available.
3) But, there are so few guests asking for them, it took too much time-space-money to allow lots of choices.
. . . one or two selections can be made and set aside for assembly when dishes are requested
. . . the SERVER can take the order instead of having a chef be interrupted and come tableside
. . . saves lots of kitchen-prep labor and time
. . . and, at WDW, time truly is money
4) It is still a matter of customer demand and economics.

Noooo I was planning on getting the meatless meatballs when I have lunch at 50s Prime Time in October! I hope I can order it from the kid's menu, I generally prefer pasta over lasagne.

Thanks everyone for all the info! I'll be making my ADRs in about 10 days, so I will definitely be doing some menu checking before then.

I canceled reservation at Maya Grill, because they changed the menu there as well.
DW and I were just at Maya Grill this past Saturday. I figured the menu I saw online was incorrect so we went anyway. It may be my imagination, but it seemed to me that their menu didn't have as many choices. It is a Mexican style restaurant, right? Then why no burrito or taco or anything similar on the entree side? They also replaced the chips and salsa (which was sooooooo goooood) with cornbread and some kind of flatbread with sesame seeds on it. I understand menus need to be changed up from time to time, but this was not a good change, IMHO. We both settled for the fajitas, but even at that I wasn't impressed. When we stay at CSR again, we will go elsewhere for dinner.
