I've just been checking the menus for all our ADR's and QS choices for our upcoming 16 night stay in December and dismayed to find lots of changes. RIP............

Surf and Turf burger at GF cafe
Ham steaks at Garden Grill breakfast
Hot dogs at Cosmic Rays (handy when half our party want burgers)
Braised pork at BOG
Pilgrim's feast a la carte at LTT
Gourmet grilled cheese sandwich with soup at Taste Track

I am still trying to come to terms with losing beef lo mein at Yak and Yeti, I can't take much more!

Whew, reading your post I thought the braised pork at BOG was gone for lunch, but it's dinner. Glad I didn't have to cancel. That's one of my fav meals.

But I agree, abrupt menu changes just about ruined our lunch/budget today...

We booked BD about 3 weeks to a month ago, specifically for the Wagyu burger, which was showing online within the past week or so. Our "plan" was to use the anniversary 20% AP discount.

However, I double checked the website menu again last night prior to the 24 cancellation, and good thing I did - it was gone! :sad2: I also confirmed by stopping at the restaurant.

It appears BD has gone to an all day menu with the expensive dinner options (except for the $18 Cobb salad). Let's just say, we would not have been happy campers paying the $10 pp fees to avoid dinner prices.

So check your online menus just prior to the cancellation deadline.

Eggs Benedict at Grand Floridian Café. They only have Lobster Eggs Benedict.

Sent DH and DD to Pinocchio's for chicken alfredo and chicken Caesar salad, respectively. Both were removed since our August trip, evidently. DS and I were going to run to CHH for lobster mac and cheese.....which is now shrimp mac and cheese. Huh?!? Sort of wrecked our lunch plans that day. Although DD did get her turkey leg for lunch instead of a snack, so technically I guess it saved me money LOL

1) Food raw prices have a tendency to go up.
2) Since there is so many people using the wasteful DDP, they have to make up the costs somewhere.
3) Thus, PEOPLE ARE THEIR OWN WORST ENEMIES.
4) They just have to just grin-and-bear menu changes.

NOTE: Previously, they would simply adjust the menu prices, but DDP reimbursement is a fixed amount for the entire year (starting October for WDW-owned eateries and December for non-WDW-owned), so other economies must be made for the same profit percentage. Additionally, I do not know of a single person who has ever said that a missing favorite men item has ruined their vacation. Until such happens en-masse and folks stop eating at that restaurant, WDW will change menus as they wish.

No Dole Whip or Mickey head rice krispy treats would probably ruin my vacation;)

I don't like Chef's de France and Le Cellier have gone to all day menu with no real lunch options. I can handle it at Mama Melrose since they still have the flatbreads and at 50s Prime Time Cafe because we go for the meatloaf or fried chicken along with the caesar salad with salmon to share. But almost everything we liked at Chef's & Le Cellier were only on the lunch menu.

You can get hot dogs at the lunching pad almost right outside Cosmic Rays so it isn't too much effort to split the party in half.
Good idea, although it's not open throughout the whole of our stay but usually by the second week so will keep it in mind.

We have never, and do not intend to, participate in the DDP. We don't NEED a dessert after some meals as the meal itself is enough, then when we are hungry again we choose a snack/dessert of our choice at a time/place of our choice. It seems to encourage overeating IMHO.

It's the season of expected menu changes. Folks complain when things stay the same and folks complain when things change.
Disney can't win.
I totally agree, and when all our favourite items were added to menus to begin with I'm sure other people lamented the loss of other items, but this year in particular, it seems as though we have lost an awful lot of our usual fare. I'm sure we'll move on to other things, and it may encourage us to try new items we wouldn't have tried otherwise. This year, for the first time, we are going to eat at:

Raglan Road
1900 Park Fare (breakfast)
Yak & Yeti Restaurant (for the lo mein)
Blaze Pizza
The Boathouse
Kona Cafe (lunch or dinner)
Sci-Fi Diner (lunch)

Hopefully some of these will become our new 'must-do' dining places.

the new DDP doesnnot include desserts with counter service meals.. instead, it includes 2 snack credits per day! yay! so you can have your "dessert" whenever and wherever you want.

we are mourning the "mom's night out" meals at pop century.. the shrimp Lo mein at pop century. ant the wonderful Jalapeno. cheese stuffed pretzels!

Interesting change to DDP, it may be more interesting to us now.

We were upset about the surf & turf burger change at the GF. We did not find about the change till go to the restaurant. That was the reason we made the ADR.

Not happy about the changes with LTT another one to cross off our list.

I think in the future we will QS it. Cheaper and less disappointing.
