Recent experience of reapplying for das

i just wanted to thank the wonderful dis boards for their useful posts on das.

I took das card issued last year ( as previously posted by Sue)

The process was so simple, no questions asked and magic band activated.


We've had various return time experiences from one minute later up to nearly 2 hours later.
Working in conjunction with fp+; all going smoothly so far.

This is so good to hear. My son who is 14 has autism, and although it's very obvious to everyone who talks to him, he has NO idea that there is anthing different about himself. I homeschool him, and he's treated the same as everyone else. So I really do not look forward to having to explain his needs in front of him. Last year I had my DH stand off to the side with him while I walked up to the window. I told her my son has autism and these are his needs, and she asked where he was and I told her after I was done explaining I will call him over because I don't want him to hear me. showing last years would be much easier.

I just got back from disney ( I go about once ever 4 to 6 weeks) I had to renew my DAS card this time ( I was there when they started the band) I walked it and said I would like to reactivate my DAS card and the CM asked me why I think I needed it. luckily I was able to explain why I needed it as some times I can not. so just be aware that some CM make you explain things even when you are in the system

We're passholders and were at disney in June when they were still having issues getting people switched over from the card to the magic band but by the time our trip ended it was strictly on the band. So we decided today to go back Sunday for a few days and I was wondering will her info still be on the band or do I still need to go back to guest services?

It is good on the magic band for 60 days you do not need to go back be tween times

We're coming back in November and DD will get her DAS reactivated. How does it work now it's on the band? How will you know when your return time is, or do they still write that down for you?

it is now good for 60 days and there is no way for you to know the return time is on your My disney experience where fast pass are listed. you can bring your own paper to write down the time or go to any kiosk in the park and just say I need to check my DAS return time. with the new system you can not return early even a second early as it will not let you in. The person with the DAS must enter the 1 check point first.. as fair as reactivation I had to reexsplain why I needed the DAS even though I was told I did not need to with the new system

Thanks. At least this way DD won't get confused as to whether we're going onto a ride using FP or by flashing her card! The number of times she went and automatically scanned her band only to get the 'blue spinning circle of doom' because she forgot we were DAS'ing that ride!

you need to tell her when she uses the DAS card it will go blue to let the cast member know to look at the screen they may have her redo it so they can activate the pass ( they press something on there screen)

We just got home Friday and noticed the DAS time was showing up on my disney experience but the problem we had was getting the mde to load. Lots of "weak or no signal" problems in the parks this trip for us both with using their wifi or not (we have verizon and my phone is new). So I just added it to my calendar or sent myself a text message.
