Hi, we recently stayed at CSR checked in on Nov. 26 and stayed until Dec. 5

Upon check in the CM explained all about the key to the world card. Anyway she said I had $1000 limit to spend? I questioned her and she said its your visa and I said I have a MC. I then said I did not want a cc linked to my KTTW card. She smiled and said ok. Then we went on our way. I was telling my DH about the mix up. The 1st purchase I made the CM wanted to charge it to my cc, I explained I do not have a cc on file!!! I returned to the desk and asked again, the CM at cong. said why not keep it on file? I explained its not my cc!!!!! I had to DEMAND for the visa cc to be taken off my KTTW card! My DH got in on it this time. The CM did not seem happy with us but it was NOT our cc!!!!! I was upset that someone's cc was on file to my room. I now see hoe ppl are charged for "things" after they have left Disney! I think my room #s were 3150 and 3151? I would have to double check. I know it was cisastas 3. There thats my rant! We did have a wonderful trip!:wizard:

PS I wanted to add

I knew it was not my MC b/c I never gave them my #. I paid my deposit by a pre-paid card and a final payment by money order. I do not ude my MC unless I am right there at the time of the transaction. :)

Is there a chance it was the pre-paid card that was on file? In any case, it shouldn't be any big deal to turn off charging privileges on your KTTW if you don't want to be able to use it that way. They always ask us if we want to turn it off on DD's card. The $1000 limit is the default limit on all moderate KTTW, by the way.

That's odd and definitely scary if they did in fact have someone else's card linked. We never link or CC to our room for charging privilages, but do find that when we buy things, the CM asks first if we want to charge it to our room. We just have to tell them we didn't allow charging privilages. I would assume this is because most people DO allow for charging so that's why they ask. As to why the concierge was pushy about it, who knows. Maybe they really don't see a downside to it and didn't consider some people pay cash!

Yikes! That is really scary.

We had the opposite happen. We were told on check in that we were linked. I only ever went to the parks with my KTTW card because that's all I needed. Luckily I ended up not doing too much shopping because it was pretty darn embarassing when I went to purchase something and found out that we were NOT linked.

It was more than likely the pre-paid credit card that was used to pay for the room.

It really upset me. It was someone's visa, maybe the last guest in the room???? Everyone makes mistakes but I wanted no part of it. :)

This is by far the most likely case. I noticed on the WDW site that the card # I'd used to pay my deposit was listed as "on file", then a second card # that I paid the rest of the amount with was listed as "on file" after I used it.

Since I imagine the majority of visitors do add a cc to their KTW, the system automatically adds it. It also protects WDW by attempting to make certain that there is a way to be paid for any incidental charges during the stay.

I agree. I was at CSR the same time as the OP (Nov 26th-Dec 4th). When I checked in, the CM asked if I wanted to use the cc on file. I had not done online check in, so told her they shouldn't have a card on file. When she checked, it was the VISA I used to pay for the reservation. I told her that when I paid both the deposit and also paid the room off a couple of months later that the CMs had asked if that was the card I wanted to be on file at the time of check in and I had told them both that I did not want a card on file, as I never charged things back to my room. She apologized and said well apparently one of the phone CMs had added it, but she'd be glad to take it off. My KTTW card said 'no charging' on it. I go to WDW several times a year and always make sure the KTTW card say 'no charging', because multiple times when I've checked in they have the card I used to pay for the trip on file, even though every time I make a payment and they ask if that's the card I want on file I tell them no. The phone CMs just don't listen.

I think I read somewhere that if you use online check-in it automatically adds your CC to the KTTW cards.

...If you use any sort of Visa gift card it keeps that number on file

We made a rezzie at DL with Visa gift cards and they had two of the numbers we used available to have on file. I used to work retail and when people use Visa gift cards to buy things most companies just use it as 'Visa' and run it rather than as a gift card.

Just to add to this: I originally booked my upcoming Feb trip as a solo trip with the AP discount, but then decided to take my 3 y/o grandson, then my husband decided to come, then we decided to add the DxDDP. For some reason I didn't think about calling to add them and the DxDDP until yesterday (even though I made all of our ADRs). When I called the CM of course had to cancel my current room only, refund my cc, then recharge the ticketless pkg. As he was doing so he asked if I wanted to keep the current cc on file for charges. I told him I'm asked that everytime and everytime I tell them I don't want any card on file and they always tell me they'll take it off. He read me the card they had on file and sure enough it was the cc I used to book the room only deal. He apologized and said he'd take any cc on file off my record right now. I went online a few hours later to check the pkg info and lo and behold just below accomodation and special requests it says' cc on file: VISA******then has the last four numbers of the cc I used.

I don't know that I'd gripe about this. I can imagine that a hotel would require a credit card number on file-- what if you damaged the room?
