I am assisting a co-worker with her first WDW trip and I wanted to know if anyone who was just visiting WDW has any idea of wait times and crowd size. I gave her most of my secrets, but just want to see if I can give her a littl emore details on how to get the most out of her vacation.

Thanks

We just returned from WDW and the crowds were more than I have seen in a few years. We always go in July. On our last trip in July 2001, the crowds were definately smaller. MK was the most crowded park especially on Sunday. On Sunday it was packed. We waited in line for Peter Pan because we already had a fast pass out for SM and the wait was 40-45 minutes. About a half hour later, the wait time posted was 60 minutes. Epcot was the least crowded of the parks but you still need to grab a fast pass for Test Track first thing. Mission Space was open in the afternoon and they had fast passes for it. The standby line was 55 minutes. We went to AK in the afternoon and it wasn't too bad then. We waited 30-35 minutes for the Safari. MGM/Disney Studios was crowded but by being there when it opened, we were able to get on rides early and later we used fast passes. We stayed at AKL and the fast food place Mara was full every morning and evening. People must have been taking advantage of the FTP. Even with the more crowded parks we were able to do everything we wanted, taking advantage of fast pass and arriving early at the parks.

I was there the beginning of July and I did not think the crowds or lines were bad at all. We did all of the early opening and used fast pass and I think the longest we ever waited was 20 minutes. I did not find it too congested either. You had plenty of room to walk around.

I also noticed a lot more character around them I had in the past.

We were there July 11-July 20.
We didn't think that the crowds were bad at all ! MK was the most crowded, but we used EE to do most of the Fantasyland rides, and used lots of Fastpasses.
Epcot was, by far, the least crowded. We walked right onto Mission Space, and really didn't encounter any lines at all.

It's had been 3 years since our last trip, also in July, and I think the crowds were about the same.

We were there July 16-23 and we thought it was crowded. We never walked on any rides including during EE. Our last trip was July 2001 and it was much more crowded this year.

I have the info I need to help them out a little more. I did the july 4th week last year and didn't think it was too bad, but my thoughts on this year seem to be on the money the FTP is making it a crowded Magical Place.

Thanks for your replies.

We were there July 12-19 and thought the crowds were bigger than what we usually experience in July. We were able to use EE and fast pass to see everything we wanted. The tour groups were there, just not as large as we have seen in the past. The weather was good but rain was inevitable each afternoon with the humidity. We just planned around that.

well I'm here right now sitting out a thunderstorm in my room. We have been up early and to MK, AK and MGM at opening. The lines are small and with a Fastpass or two we haven't waited more than 10 mintues for anything. Usually by the time we are leaving at 1-2 pm the lines have gotten very long. I can't imagine
waiting 45-60 minutes for the Peter Pan ride.....it's really quite lame ;-) but the kids 2 and 4 liked it. Get up and out early and you'll be happy.....take the afternoons to relax.

When was their this past weekend I was very suprised. At the MK on saturday it was empty. We walked right on POTC and splash mountain was a 15 min standbye line. However MGM was way to crowded on Sunday, you could not even walk.

What time were you at MK? I was there in the morning this Saturday and was able to get on all the rides early, but by the late morning/early afternoon the place was jammed.

Got there around 10:30 did Splash Mountain first, then POTC, Small World, Haunted Mansion, Buzz Lightyear and Space Mountain. Left when it started raining in the afternoon, even had time for a nice relaxing 45 min lunch.
