We were recently forced by circumstances to schedule our family trip to disney, unfortunately, the week before Easter. To those who have been recently and have been in the past, did the crowds seem less? Do we have any hope of seeing decreased crowd sizes or has the economy not really affected the crowd sizes?

Not wishing bad on anyone, just hoping for a decent trip..............

Im also interested in this.. But if i were to think logically i would say the crowds havent lost alot since there was the deal with 4 get 3.. So i think that definatly probably added on a lot of people who normally wouldnt go... I leave the 25th of this month

Hi,

No matter how you slice it, the week leading up to Easter is one of the three or four busiest weeks of the year. Recent reports on these boards indicate the President's Day week was as busy as ever. And the week leading up to Easter is another school vacation week in many parts of the country, so I'm afraid you can count on large crowds.

I had saw the buy 4 get three free deal too and was kinda hoping that it would draw foks away from that time period>>>>>>>>:thumbsup2

I think the crowd levels will be really high during the week we are there because of the 4/3 promotion. A few weeks ago, there were a lot of rooms in the value resorts during the week we are there. Since pushing the 4/3 promo, the value resorts are booked. Most of the other resorts are booked too. ugh

That basically tells me that there will be a ton of people if the resorts are full.

We will be there the last week of March.

We were just there last week and for this time of year it was pretty crowded. Fast pass was a must for the popular rides. New Toy Story ride in Studios had between 80 and 110 minute wait at most times. Rockin Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror averaged 40 minutes.
We typically don't notice where people are from but this time it was apparent that there were many Europeans. Perhaps the dollar and Disney incentives have made going to WDW a great deal.
So I would expect it to be very crowded unfortunately.

I think If there was any hopes of any size reduction It went out the window with the 4/3 deal. We are going to be there the week of the 24th of March to the 2nd of April and I can tell you all the rooms were booked at pop when I went to try to add a day.So I think Its going to be packed:cool1: :cool1: sorry I love crowds, its part of what I love about Disney.

One way to beat the crowds is to take advantage of the EMH's in the a.m. when possible. Most people like to sleep on their vacations. It's amazing how much can be done in a morning when you're let in early. Use the FP whenever you can. I ONLY get to go during the summer months, so am quite used to the crowds.
