Received the ultimate upgrade!!!

What an awesome thing to happen! Boy, do I have questions . . .

Do you have any idea why you got such an upgrade? Did you tell the reservations person about the bad place you were staying? How many people did you have? And how much did you pay?

Did this include concierge? Were there any other perks -- gifts in the room, etc.?

YC is our favorite resort, and we've been thrilled to get upgrades from standard to water view a couple times. You can't imagine how much we would love to stay in one of those suites.

We had a similar experience. We were upgraded for the last 2 nights of our trip at the BC one year to the Newport Suite. It's something that I will not soon forget!

I had always dreamed of staying in a Disney suite but never thought it would happen. I'll try to answer some of the questions. We checked in at about 11:30 am. I did not mention to anyone at Disney about the bad experience we had at the place we were staying. I made the reservation 2 days prior to arrival and it was an AP rate of $289 for a waterview room. There were only 3 of us, myself, DH and DS6 - who now thinks that we should always have that room at Disney. There were no other gifts or perks associated with the room and although I didn't ask, I don't believe concierge was available to us - just being there for 2 incredible nights was enough for us though!

Just to add one other thing, we didn't know we were going to be in a suite when we checked-in. The CM just made a comment about what a nice room we had. When we went up to find the room, the first door we came to with that number had the latch on when we tried to get in. I was thinking, oh man they gave us someone else's room! Then my husband looked around the corner and saw the double door entry with the Presidential Suite plaque and the same room number. We had tried to enter through the second bedroom door. My husband says it was a good 20 minutes before my jaw stopped hanging open.
