Kaylee - when did you order it? My credit card hasn't been charged and there is still much discussion on the Restuarant Board - some people have received it; others who ordered early January haven't.

You do get some dining discounts with the AP, but they're quite restrictive. For example most of them are valid only for lunch Monday - Friday and exclude alcoholic beverages. All the Epcot full service restaurants and most of the Downtown Disney ones are included, plus a few resort restaurants. The discount is 10%.
Kaylee - did you receive the email before your card arrived? I haven't had anything at all and we leave in just over 6 weeks.
That's great that you've got it. Now you can start dreaming of all those lovely meals. We don't go until the beginning of August so I thought that I would order mine around the end of May. Do you reckon that this is enough time?
Carolyn
Are you staying on site? We too are going in May and can't make our minds up to get the DDE as we are off site and going to drive to WDW.
I really like the sound of the DDE and hope it is here to stay as we are DVC members and for the next 49 years plan to stay on site so would be really good as we are big drinkers!!
It sounds as though we have left it too late now but let us know how you get on with it as it sounds too good to be true if you are staying on site.
It is never to late, we applyed for ours a week before we went. They sent an email which covered us for our holiday. We used it several times and got some great discounts. However you have to have an AP to buy this at $50, there was some talk of people getting them without an AP, but that was a mistake. We hadn't bought our AP's when we joined, but said that we would be buying them. I think they check when they take the money. Since I belong to DVC I get a great discount on AP's as well!!
Does a DDE card have a name on it? I have read that it can only be used by the person who purchased it, which makes sense. How do they check on who has presented the card?
We got our cards yesterday, one each with names printed on them - we had an email from DDE that we used in February.
When we used the email in February we were sometimes also asked for ID - so it helps if you've got a picture driving license that you can carry arround with you. We 'saved' about $35 dollars by using the card for a week in February, so we should easily more than break even with two weeks in September.
