Received MyMagic+ Flash drive in the mail.

I got my package yesterday. That was probably the first time since joining DIS that I was actually surprised by something!

I have 2 reservations so I wonder if I will get a second package?

I got the email with the "be on the lookout for a special package to come" words yesterday for our late Jan arrival. At the time, I was perplexed, thinking maybe they were referring to the MB shipment or maybe just plain Mickey mail.

We are going over New Year's and have reservations that begin on 12/26, 1/1 and 1/9. I just received the flash drive mailing for our 1/9 stay (it is completely personalized with our name on the booklet and reservation details inside) but have not received one for our earlier reservations.

A while back they extended the MB/FP+ system to guests with arrivals on or before 1/5. It looks like these new mailings are going out to guests with stays that start after that.

It is very cool. Not only is the cover personalized, but the picture of a computer screen inside is personalized with my first name as well.

More than the cost, it is the environmental unfriendliness that really bugs me. In my head I envision Wall-E 2, I picture Wall-E cleaning up a huge pile of slick Magic Band boxes.

As far as we know it's just during the test. Ultimately they should figure out a way to deal with multiple reservations running consecutively.

The MB boxes are very fun and anyone environmental minded will either recycle them or use them in their homes. The inside box for this drive will also be used inside my home, and the outer foldy thing will be recycled. Hopefully most will do the same.

Mine is for one of our 4 reservations, LOL. Just got it yesterday for our 1/7 (one day) reservation.

We received our package in the mail today. We check-in on the 9th. Our daughter has a reservation for two extra days after we leave - will be interested to see if she gets one for the two days. Would we be able to link her reservation to ours so the bands would be good for their extra time? Also, how does this work since we all have annual passes? Do we have to link our annual pass numbers to the bands?

I got the flash drive package - I'm staying at Pop starting 1/9. Looks cool, nicely designed package, but to be honest I haven't tried it out. I am in trip planning overload, so this sat on my kitchen counter for a couple days before I bothered to open it. I thought it was going to be the magicband, and was surprised to find it was not!

I agree it seems like a waste of packaging, but at least the gray box housing the flash drive etc. is actually quite nice. I will definitely keep and reuse it.

You can trust Disney, but you can't necessarily trust the Chinese (insert other foreign country of your choice) company that loaded the flash drive. Flash drives are notorious for harboring nasty computer bugs, that's why many companies and the government have policies forbidding their use.

I have an AP and I did link my AP to my MyDisneyExperience account (and thus it is also linked to my magicband). I had to do so in order to make my fastpass+ selections for my trip. You need to have valid ticket media linked to your band in order to select fastpass+ options, I think. I could be wrong, though!

The flash drive is cute but I tried it twice and it crashed my PC both times, just went to a solid white screen and stuck there. I feel like Disney IT has invaded my home
