Received email about closings at CBR - help!!

So I already have the $75/night room credit taken from my balance owing.....and I received the email about the $25/night gift card.......so does this now mean the $25/night gift card has been upgraded to a $75/night gift card or more likely just the $75/night gift card from this day forward ?

I asked the same question to the Cast Member I spoke with this morning. She said she was going to verify this and get back to me. I'll update here once I get an answer!

The voicemail (on the UK side at least) reflects the $75/night gift card upon check-in. Do you have to talk to someone to make sure it's noted? Or is it just automatic? Has anyone confirmed that with a customer service rep?

thanks.....the numerous and varying offers we have seen posted here is staggering....some consistency would be nice to alleviate all our stress about the situation.....and I would certainly like to have final confirmation in writing, instead of word of mouth from a cm

Is anybody actually going to stay put and accept the $75.00 GC-looks like everyone is geeting out of Dodge!lol

I'm thinking of staying put.

We don't arrive until August, but are hoping this deal is still in place, and true! Heck, for $75 a night refund I'm not moving. Especially on a free dining bounce back. We barely spend time at the resort and never eat there anyway!

I have gone through most of the thread and don't see for sure. I apologize if already asked and answered. With the $75 a night credit I am actually thinking of booking CBR for our May stay. Does anyone know if their will be refillable drink stations available? Assume answer is no they will not be available, but thought I should ask. Thanks.

"Guests can refill their resort mugs with beverages from our Coca-Cola freestyle machines which will be available throughout the resort." So yes!

There are supposed to be a few throughout the resort during the construction. It has been talked about on the CBR thread somewhere if you want to look there, but the short answer is yes.

It is is like previous refurbs they will bring refillable mug stations. I believe I heard they will be putting a machine or two at each area of the resort (which would be what I have been saying all resorts need anyways).

They've said in several previous announcements that they'll have Coke Freestyle machines in several places during the construction. If there's one at each "island," this may be better than it was previously with having them only in OPR!

We're staying put and hoping for free dining still. With a party of 5 (DD is 3 and counts now) there aren't many options to move to without getting two rooms or a suite. We aren't "roomies" at all, so we're trusting that Disney will take care of us.

What I'd like to see is Disney allowing you to apply the $75/night to your balance PRIOR to check in.

I called and made them note on my reservation that we're taking the $75 credit... Got an e-mail shortly after about it, but not sure if they're sending those out to everyone right now or if they just sent it because I called. Either way, yay!

Did you find out from them on whether you needed to call or whether this was automatically applied

I didn't, sorry! If you're concerned, I'd call and ask them to make a notation - which is what I did. I feel much better. :) (and I got an e-mail shortly after confirming the $75).

As an FYI, this was posted on the Disney Travel Agent site this morning:

In an effort to continually improve the Guest experience, we often refresh our offerings and atmosphere. We recently announced exciting changes that will be made at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort at Walt Disney World® Resort beginning May 1, 2017-June 30, 2018.

During this time, Old Port Royale Food Court, Shutters at Old Port Royale, Banana Cabana Pool Bar and Calypso Trading Post will be closed for refurbishment. There will be a variety of dining options available to your Clients for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Centertown, a dining location, will serve a Caribbean-style buffet for breakfast and a la carte offerings for dinner. A selection of grab-and-go meals will be conveniently available for purchase throughout the day in three island markets located in the Aruba, Jamaica and Martinique regions of the Resort.

Our in-room dining will remain available. The menu includes pizza, sandwiches and pasta. Disney Dining Plans will be accepted for these offerings and dining locations will make every effort to assist with dietary needs. Please note that your Clients will still be able to make a splash at our feature pool—Fuentes del Morro—or at one of our leisure pools during their stay.

As a token of our gratitude, upon arrival to the Resort, your Clients will be receiving a $75 Disney Gift Card per room for each night of their stay. If your Clients were previously offered a $25 Disney Gift Card per room for each night of their stay, this will replace that offer. This gift card can be used at participating Walt Disney World Resort Food & Beverage and Merchandise locations, Disney Store locations in the United States, DisneyStore.com and MyDisneyPhotoPass.com. For complete terms and conditions please visit DisneyGiftCard.com.

If your Clients would prefer to move to a different Disney Resort hotel, we will be offering Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter, Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground at no extra cost. The option to move to one of these hotels is subject to availability. Guests who want to move to any other Deluxe Resort will be charged the appropriate room upgrade. Please note the $75 per room per night Disney Gift Card will not be offered to Guests who move to another hotel.

Are all Disney travel agents given the info about the opportunity to switch resorts? I don't want to contact my agent and her tell me she has no idea what I'm talking about.

Also, has anything been confirmed by Disney on if you switch resorts for the same price whether you can apply a later promotion (such as free dining) while keeping the lower resort price? 2 others on the boards were told they could days ago, I was just wondering if anyone else has been told the same thing or if anything official has come out from Disney about this.

The information was posted on the Disney Travel Agent website under the Disney Travel News section. Nothing was sent out to TA's (though it's possible they'll send it out in a day or so). I would suggest copying and pasting the info in an e-mail and letting her know it's on DTA under Disney Travel News and ask her to handle calling WDW to make sure you get the $75 GC or switch resorts if that is what you would like to do.

This is just speculation, but I highly doubt they will honor the CBR resort switch price if free dining comes out. The free dining promo always comes with the caveat that you have to pay full price for the room and tickets and WDW never lets guests stack discounts. Again, this certainly isn't official, but my guess is guests will either have to choose the "discount" they got by switching from CBR to another resort OR take the free dining promo. I doubt they will be offered both, but who knows!

Graahh. I just got off the phone with a very unhelpful cast member who insisted that only the Port Orleans resorts were being offered for a move and for anything else it would be full price. I mentioned what a previous poster said was on the Disney Travel Agent site about Saratoga, AoA, and the FW cabins permitted for switch and she continued to state that those would not be allowed.

I then asked about using promotions and she said if free dining were to come out and you stayed at CBR with the $75 gift card, she could not confirm if you would still get to keep the gift card. Also if you switch resorts then try to apply free dining, she could not guarantee that you won't have to rebook at FULL PRICE (losing the CBR price paid for the free resort switch). She said Disney has not given any word about these issues and said guests may have to wait until the promotion comes out and see how it works.

I expressed to her my dissatisfaction with this lack of information and told her that many people who are hoping for free dining are relying on this information when deciding whether or not to switch resorts.

I'm thinking of staying put.

Just thinking out loud ....
.... we are rarely at our resort
.... we rarely eat at our resort preferring parks or
.... if I stay at CBR I am driving to other places to eat
.... if I stay at CBR I am driving to parks
.... we rarely use the pools, especially at CBR
.... we are usually at hotel only at night
.... for $75 off my rate and we always do discounted rooms
.... I would be staying put and use the money for dining ..... ELSEWHERE

If I could book it now for my next trip and guarantee I will still get the $75 on top, I'd switch to CBR :rotfl2:
but no rooms are available for my dates.

This is what comes up on the Disney Website for CBR:
