Received Cruisous DVC Mailing Today

Well, curious to me anyway! "Let your friends and family in on the best kept Disney secret." It suggests asking them to visit dvcfriends.com to request info or to call the DVC number. I checked the dvcfriends.com website and there were no type of discounts listed. It seems to be just an advertisment to get members to recommend DVC to friends. The flyer is a four page 8 1/2 x 11, colorful heavy paper ad that was not inexpensive to produce and mail. My sister is intersted in DVC now that we have joined but I think I will refer her to our guide before the website. I guess I just don't get it. Anyone else get this mailing? Do you think it is only sent to new members?

They mail these out periodically to inform current members about the reward you can get by getting someone to buy in and mention your name.

You do the marketing and they give you a monetary reward.

I got $200 when my brother in law bought in a few years ago.

We've been members since 2000 and we got the mailing yesterday. I'd recommend my friends, except they all think I"m crazy for spending so much time at WDW (plus we don't get any rewards for referrals here in MN anyway...)

I got one in the mail yesterday too. I don't think it is used to get us to recommend to others for the reward we would get because here in CT we can't get a reward for recommending DVC. Peggie

I got it too, I've been a member over 6 years. I'm in PA, so not eligible for a reward.

This advertising does not come out of dues money, it would be paid for by DVD (Disney Vacation Development).

We've had two friends buy into the DVC after we recommended them. No "reward" here in VT either. We did get a letter etc. I thought that maybe a dinner certificate would have been a nice gesture. I know that they would have to call it something else besides a referral reward. Oh well!

We got one also, and we're in Maine, so we can't get any referral rewards here either. And we have friends we just referred who purchased last week! I think the people who referred us got just a thank you note from our guide.

I think we are talking about the same thing. I just described it differently. Technically, I guess it is 17 x 11 folded in half with writing on all four sides.
