Fahrenheit 451 by ray bradburry

The novel presents a future American society in which the masses are hedonistic, and critical thought through reading is outlawed. The central character, Guy Montag, is employed as a "fireman" (which, in this future, means "book burner"). The number "451" refers to the temperature (in Fahrenheit) at which a book or paper autoignites. A movie version of the novel was released in 1966, and it is anticipated that a second version will begin filming in 2008. At least two BBC Radio 4 dramatizations have also been aired, both of which follow the book very closely.

Over the years, the novel has been subject to various interpretations, primarily focusing on the historical role of book burning in suppressing dissenting ideas. Bradbury has stated that the novel is not about censorship; he states that Fahrenheit 451 is a story about how television destroys interest in reading literature, which ultimately leads to ignorance of total facts.[3]

Bradbury has stated that the entirety of his novel was written in the basement of UCLA's Powell library on a pay typewriter. His original intention in writing Fahrenheit 451 was to show his great love for books and libraries. He has often referred to Montag as an allusion to himself.

The Clique (series)
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (series)....

In the first novel in the series, it is established that four high school students, Lena Kaligaris, Tibby Rollins, Bridget Vreeland, and Carmen Lowell, are such close friends that they are virtually sisters. They find a pair of thrift store jeans that fit all four girls beautifully, even though the girls are all different sizes and shapes. To keep in touch with each other during their summer vacation, they pass the pants along from one girl to another. First, the pants go with Lena, who is spending the summer in Greece with her grandparents. Lena then sends the pants to Tibby, who is stuck at home. Next, Tibby sends them to Carmen, who has gone to visit her divorced father in South Carolina. Carmen sends them to Bridget, who is at a soccer camp in Baja California, Mexico. Then, the pants go back in reverse order--Bridget to Carmen to Tibby to Lena. When each girl wears the Traveling Pants, she gains insight into her life and is emboldened to change it.
