Okay....let me try and explain. We are cruising Western leaving Jan 29th. We always re-book while on board. Several families want to come with us next year. Can I book for them while I am on board and get te 10% discount and room credit? I will use my credit card for all of the deposits....say $250 for about 40 people. Would they let me use the credit card of the person who is not on the cruise, but I am booking for?

We have 2 cabins on this trip and it may be as many as 10 cabins for next year?

Thanks,
Lisa

They definately will, but you really should look into booking yourselves as a group instead of booking on-board. Since you'll have more than 8 staterooms, you'll qualify as a group, and can qualify for group discounts and goodies. You should contact DCL prior to leaving to see what the group deal so you can figure out which one is better.

I think that I remember reading a post that you can only book one room per adult in a stateroom when onboard with the room credit. Not sure exactly why but you may want to call them & ask ahead of time so you aren't dissappointed. Also, the other families may get better rates now if they can't use the booking credits & discounts.

I do not have a better idea, but I can tell you from my experience what we did. While on the crusie last month I booked cabins for my brother and sister, who were not with us, and I paid for their deposit. They also got 200.00 onboard credit and discount. I just would have them pay you back or make a check right to the credit card. I do think it would not hurt to price shop before you go. You can email DU or Allears and get a price.

We have a incredable TA and we transferred our reservation to her when we got back.

I do not know if they will let you use their credit card, but you could have them prepay on your card before you go. Some credit cards have convience checks. When you book they will ask what CC you want it billed to. with that amount of people you could not use your debit card because of the dailey limit.

Good luck, hope some of this helps.

We booked my family for a cruise at the same time we rebooked our this past year. We put their deposit on our cc..we were able to get the 10% off for booking onboard along with the room credit for them also...BUT I agree with the first responce in that you should look into the group discounts to see what they have to offer. I know it's for groups of 8 or more staterooms.
