I just saw that Disney will be sailing out of NYC again in 2017. I love those cruises because 1) I can drive in less than 7 hours and 2) it's 4 days at sea.

I am sailing on the Oct 29th cruise and would like to take advantage of the OBC. I know the price increases as time goes on, so if I book now, would it be the same as getting a 10% credit in 3 months? Also...I don't want it to be sold out. Though GTY category intrigues me. It seems so many people get upgraded when they are in that category.

Prices " may" increase we do not know how much.

If it's popular it will go up, if the category you want sells fast it may go up.

Best advice,

Book now, then re check on the ship, if it's cheaper then, cancel thus one and rebook called reshopping. Note things like the popular Main sitting or popular stateroom locations may go if you cancel and rebook.

So if you book now you know your sailing, and if it did sell out your on the ship, unless your concierge and are before your paid in full date, you do not loose out.

A regular GTY fare is not discounted, and despite how it appears, most passengers receive exactly the stateroom category booked. *GT rates are the broader category, last-minute discount offers; but this is cannot be booked with an OBC.

I agree with PP -- book now, then reshop when you are onboard. If the fare has not increased considerably, you can do the OBB and cancel the original booking; if fares have increased enough, you'll still have the better deal.

Enjoy your cruises!

We did this exact same thing. We like to cruise at spring break (for us in Texas, so usually the 2nd or 3rd week in March). We went ahead and booked our cruise when it was released. Then we rebooked on the ship. The price had gone up some, but not enough for us to take advantage of the ability to rebook under the 10% discount and the OBC. We had a specific room we wanted, so our travel agent was able to cancel our old booking and rebook to grab our same room.
