I booked a roundtrip AirTran flight from Orlando to Minneapolis thru Expedia. My flight was on Friday the 3rd at 12:05 PM, and the airport closed at 12:00 PM. Yes, just a matter of five minutes and I had to cancel my vacation. My only option was to receive a credit of my purchase price ($239) to use for AirTran and book thru Expedia again.
I am now preparing to rebook my flight, and since it will be beyond the 5 day grace period I will have to pay the difference of the cost of the flights.
Here's my problem: I have to book thru Expedia and use AirTran - for my travel dates it will cost $321! I looked at AirTran and the EXACT same flight is only $196. I don't think I should have to pay Expedia extra money to take a vacation I've already paid for. If AirTran is offering the flight for $196 thru their website, I think this is reasonable thinking. I don't even care about getting a refund for the extra $43 I paid.
Has anyone gone through this before?
