Hi everyone I figured this would be the place to post this...
I found a 2nd mail in rebate offer that I didnt know about when I went grocery shopping today but I only have 1 copy of my reciept I've never run into this problem before... The forms say they want the orginal reciepts what are my options? Do I have any?

Thanks!

Do you have an Office Max near you (or, even cheaper, a copier at home)? Copy the entire receipt. Cut it at some point between the two items. Staple each section of the receipt to one copy - so the rebate houses can see all the information (store, date, time, total, obviously THAT you purchased the appropriate items) on the copy, AND have the actual section of the receipt showing the appropriate purchase.

eta: I asked about Office Max because this week they're offering black & white copies for five cents each.

go back to the store and see if they can print you a duplicate receipt.

Otherwise you can try a copy and the company may or may not reject it. I have had rebates accepted with a copy, but usually I just ask for a duplicate.

If the store can't print you a duplicate receipt, can you "return/re-buy" the item?

I always break things into 2 orders to keep it safe.

I went to the store today with the original reciept and asked them if they can reprint it ( actually need like 2 more copies) the girl behind the counter gave me the deer in headlights look then called her manager who said to come back tomorrow because he couldnt do it tonite... why he couldnt do it tonight but tomorrow is different who knows but ill go back tomorrow and hopefully get what I need

May need some type of code; may need authorization from headquarters; or, most likely, given your location, he was too busy with people stocking up because - horrors! -we may end up with over a half foot of snow and you just KNOW everybody's going to be stuck in the house for HOURS with no bread, milk, or eggs (what is it about snowstorms that compels everyone to crave French toast? ;))

LOL!!!:rotfl: I Bought eggs this morning. When I told my DH he asked why. And I said well if we lose power than I can at least fry eggs on top of our woodstove!!! We are on the Cape and the wind is supposed to be strong and we lose power super easy anyway!

I'm a teacher and I was actually hoping for a snow day... we have not had one and yes I know we have school break next week but theres something different about a snowday cause its like a surprise... and yes we did get a snow day but its now 10 am and no snow...I like to consider myself a pretty hardy new englander i've lived here my entire life and i don't freak out at the possibility of snow... I love the people who act like its some foreign substance and freak out.. so I will brave the 'storm' later and go get my receipt

I would return one of the items and then rebuy it on a separate receipt. I would not do the cut it in half thing someone else suggested, as then you are likely to get both rebates denied since you didn't send either one the complete original receipt. The rebate processors don't want to give you the money, so they will use any failure to follow the procedure as a reason not to pay.
