THis will be the first time we will be driving to WDW. I am wondering what other places are available neer WDW. How do I find a map or location or listing of these? Also we are staying at CR, how long will it take to be off propoerty?

I just googled and found this ... it looks like a great resource, and if you click on the restaurants you can find menus and maps. :cool1:

You can be off property, from the Contemporary, in about 15 minutes, maybe less.

Along 535, you will find TONS of chain restaurants -- everything from Steak-n-Shake and Pizza Hut to Macaroni's. There's also a place called Pebbles in the Gooding's Shopping Center, at the Hotel Boulevard entrance to WDW. It's got a very good rep (though I've never tried it myself). All of this is about 20 minutes or so from your hotel, depending on traffic.

Hi, BAHAMA BREEZE is our FAVORITE offsite restaurant near WDW. It is about 10-15 min. away. I am not very good at directions but here goes-go past all the DTD Hotels and take a right,Bahama Breeze is less than a mile down on the left hand side of the road. This is a popular spot so arrive early 5-5:30 PM FOR NO WAITING LINE! I agree with the previous posters about the Hwy 535/ Lake Buena Vista Area. We have eaten at several places in that location and everything has always been excellent! I also agree with going early. If you're there during a crowded time of the year, it is necessary to plan on eating early or late. The typical dinner hours (6-8pm), were usually packed everywhere.

Places I'd recommend: Olive Garden, Pebbles, Golden Corral, Bahama Breeze, Joes Crab Shack, and Hooters. We had excellent food and service at all of these properties. We've also found the fast food places in that neighborhood to be well kept and well staffed.

Thanks! All of your responses were a tremendous help! :jumping1: :jumping3: :Pinkbounc :jumping3:

There are a lot of chain restaurants on 192 near Animal Kingdom... there is a road ( I can't for the life of me remember it's name  ) that if you turn left instead of going into the Animal Kingdom Lodge and go down that road you will end up on 192... lots of chain restaurants there too. We usually go to Chick-Fil-A, Taco Bell, a Chicago style pizza place, McDonalds...
