My husband and son are both picky eaters, they like steak, spicy chicken, potatoes, etc. and we are scheduled to eat there in a couple of weeks. My daughter and I are easier to please, and like almost everything minus seafood. It is probably too late to try and switch to another restaurant at this point, but will there be food on the buffet for dinner they would like? We almost cancelled O'Hana last year, and it ended up being our family favorite. This year we are going twice:goodvibes Thanks!

You won't have anything to worry about. My husband loves the steak at Boma and I love the chicken. The steak is a bit spicy for me but the chicken is fine. Potatoes are good too.

Honestly, the "trick" to enjoying Boma for the first time is to simply ignore the names of the dishes and take a chance. That's the beauty of buffets. You can try anything you want.

We've eaten here with just about every kind of eater - picky, vegetarian, carnivore, healthy eater, etc. No one has ever walked away less than stuffed.

We went there this past week and LOVED it! There was a spiced chicken plus a prime rib (I think it was a prime rib, I'm not into beef) carving area. They had awesome potatoes with Afritude (potato wedges with various spices) and fufu (blend of mashed potates and sweet potatoes with cinnamon) which was just amazing. My kids ate some things but did go more for the mac and cheese. They had 7 soups I think, dh tried all of them and said the corn and chicken chowder was the best. They also had a great selection of vegetable dishes. I devoured the hummus (3 kinds) also. It was by far our favorite meal and will return next year.

Be sure to check out the soup pod before you get to full on other things. Those are amazing and it would be ashamed to be too full to take full advantage.

I wasn't too crazy about dessert or the breads there, but that just meant I was able to load up on more healthy options. I was beyond full when I left. Thank goodness we headed to Illuminations and MK EMH after so I had some time and mileage to work it off. I'm looking forward to dinner on the next trip.

There are plenty of "adventurous" foods and plenty of "safe" foods, enough to please everyone :goodvibes There have been nights, that DS has eaten his weight in the strawberries there  --they are the best strawberries I've ever had :thumbsup2

Just put stuff on your plate and try it, if you like it, get more. If not, try something else :)

There were plenty of options that my somewhat picky meat-lovin then DS6 loved at Boma. There is a good selection there. I doubt that your family will leave hungry, and likely, there will be something there that they will really enjoy. Don't worry.;)

Well I hate to not sound totally pessimistic but my hubby is a very picky eater also and did not enjoy this restaurant. didn't hate it- but just didn't find anything he loved. I loved it- especially the soup they had was wonderful! I would just remind your husband to enjoy the fact that it's a buffet and not worry about tasting stuff and wasting food- and go back for 2nds and 3rds on the stuff he likes. Also- these buffets usually have basic food on the kids section so he might wanna grab some stuff from there also.

we always enjoy the variety at boma - there really is something for everyone! the kids (and picky adults) can have chicken fingers, mac and cheese, salad, fries, lots of fresh fruit, prime rib, etc...but hopefully they will try some of the hummus, flatbreads, slaws/salads and great soups
desserts are great, too! this is one of our favorite places to eat and then walk around the fabulous hotel and out on the deck ---there you can see a few animals and sit around the firepit
all in all, a great place to be! have a wonderful time!

We ate there this past Feb and liked it. My dh can eat anything but I am a picky eater and I liked it too. Try it!

There is so much on the buffet at Boma that you will find something. It's not a place I really liked, but I am glad we tried it. There are plenty of meat and potato options for your husband and son!

I hate to be the conflicting opinion to everyone else's but I think the OP should know that I may be just like the picky eaters in her family and I felt like it was a waste of dinner.

The only things I felt like I could eat without squirming was that meat they sliced for you, I can't remember now if it was beef or pork... and things off the kids menu like fries, chicken strips and mac n cheese. After that there was always deserts but I'm not too into the sweets. I was very disappointed and felt like I should just be paying for a kids meal.

It was the worst experience I had last year and it had nothing to do with the service which was wonderful. I know those who aren't picky eater don't understand or they just think 'get over it' but it's just the same as anyone affraid of heights going up to the top of the Empire State Building, or someone who does not swim being thrown into the pool. It's a VERY unenjoyable experience.

I'm not a really adventerous eater, nor are my kids and we LOVED it. I tried lots of stuff, even if I wasn't sure I would like it. Get a small amount of a questionable thing and if you don't like it - move on! The kids had a great time sampling. Everything wasn't a hit, but they loved the "adventure" We can't wait to go back this trip. It's a great chance to expand outside your comfort zone, so go in with an open mind and a willingness to try and I think you'll enjoy it!!
