I can not believe I am worrying about this.

We will be in Disney for 11 nights. We only have 5 day PH and 5 days WP tickets. Will we have enough tickets? We had to extend our vacation unexpectedly and I couldn't upgrade our tickets to more days. I could buy more tickets, but well, it would be an additional 1200. I feel like I have messed up one thing after another for our trip and goofydad is mad at me about it.

We are staying in Kidani so we have access to community hall. Why am I so worried about this??

Thanks for understanding.

P.S. Most of this is probably coming from the fact that goofydad is mad at me about it.

Why would they not upgrade the tickets? I i had 5 free days I would get a car and see some off property stuff(I am not a pool person)

Why would upgrading your tickets cost $1200? Is this a large group we're talking about?

We bought YES tickets. We can't upgrade those so we would have to buy regular tickets in addition to the YES tickets.

I wouldn't sweat it. Just space your park days out and enjoy your resort days! Kidani/Jambo have lots of activities. I personally feel that resort/pool days are my favorite. I love the feeling of relaxing by the pool and not having to "be" somewhere!

One park a day (or multiple since you have hoppers), water parks or DQ on the others, one day in the middle somewhere to relax at AKV.

It may not be ideal for an 11 day trip (hope you like water parks!) but I think it will work just fine.

The money you are saving in buying YES tickets should alleviate any madness - what else could you do if you didn't know your trip was going to be extended?

There is so much to do besides the parks!
What about all the activities at the different resorts?
Fishing, boating, bike rentals, horseback ridding, outdoor movies, the sing-a-long at the campground, stories by the fire at AKV.
When you check in they give you a list of activities that will be going on that week.
Rent a car and go off-property. Take a day and drive to the beach or check out the space center.
There is so much to do that you don't need park tickets for.

If you are really worried about it, you can call Student Guest Services and add a couple of days to your YES tickets. I originally bought 5 day Premium tickets in February for our August trip and about a month later decided to add another day in case we wanted to visit a park on our arrival day. I called and for about $10 per ticket was able to add that sixth day. I will pm you the name and number of the person I dealt with - I'm sure he can help you. I think 8 days may be the max on YES tickets, but he'll will let you know for sure. Good luck!

As mrebuck said, you can possibly add more days to your YES tickets. I would call and ask first.

Even if you can't upgrade, that really should be plenty. You really can't (or at least shouldn't) go at commando pace for 11 days anyway.

I wouldn't worry about it!

You have tickets for 10 days - you are taking an 11 day vacation - you can easily space your park days out, take in a movie at DTD, go to City Walk at Universal, go Outlet shopping, visit free attractions in the area, go resort hopping, see downtown Orlando, go to the beach one day, do one of the dinner shows in the area, go to the Old Towne area (go carts, carnival rides, putt putt golf, midway games etc etc) It's not Disney - but it is fun stuff!

Tell Grumpy to step off his grumpy stump and perk up! It's DISNEY!

You saved a TON of money with YES tickets - the kids are getting an educations adventure out of it, and you have 10 full days of Disney Magic to take advantage of - no reason to be Grumpy!

I would rather be bored at AKV than bored at home!

You can watch the animals, participate in the cultural programming at the resort, swimming pools, and all the stuff that is available not only at AKV, but also at Animal Kingdom Lodge as well.

There are so many things you can plan to do ahead of time that you can assure boredom IS NOT a problem!

Plan ahead, take advantage of Extra Magic Hours, be in the parks at rope drop, plan your days out well, do buffets instead of table service (to save time), and manage your park days to take advantage of shows, AND eat at irregular times so.... while everyone else is eating, attraction wait times drop dramatically!

10 days of tickets will be MORE than enough to keep your family busy!

Don't worry, and if Grumpy stays mad, tell him he can stay home!!! :rotfl2:

Our favorite WDW vacations are when we did a park day, took the day, off then another park day, etc. We do always rent a car so we don't have to stay onsite the entire time. You could save $$ by cooking/grilling on your days off. Spend a day riding boats/monorails and resort hopping. You can get Dole Whip at the Poly counter service place. Watch an outdoor movie at night & do campfires if they have them at your resort.

Most off all...RELAX!

:sad2: the student services person couldn't help me. We are too close to our trip for it to work. I was very sad. When I gave Grumoy :rotfl2: the news he got mad.

We drive so we can totally do a day trip somewhere. We already had a day planned to travel to Sarasota and visit Yoder's.

 Thank you everyone for your kind words and encouragement. I knew I would get good ideas from you all. :cloud9:

Be sure you take in all that AKV has to offer as well. There is not only a wonderful water play area there at Kidani, but the drum circle and African exchange people's presentations in the library every night are really fun. We find ourselves coming back from the parks early just to stand out by the fire pit talking to the cultural exchange people and then going in for the exchange presentations every night. I'm not sure how often they repeat, but we saw a different one each night for a week when we were there in December.:thumbsup2

I gotta agree with drive over to the beach for a day. Go to Daytona Beach and eat on the famous pier. You are allowed to drive and park literally on the beach, on the sand, which is usally cool to men and boys. Just be sure to leave before the tide comes back in.
The marshmallow roasting and movie on the beach at the Beach Club is fun for an evening. I know they do it at other resorts too, I just particularly like the Beach Club one--chaise lounges on the sand. Then you can walk over to the bridge and see Illuminations, without going into Epcot. Maybe have dinner first at Beaches & Cream so you have an all beach theme night.
Too bad goofydad is mad. I hope he gets over it before your trip.
Have fun.

I think you'll be fine. There are so many other things to do besides the parks. And with your water park tickets you'll have lots to keep you busy. It's going to be very hot and you'll be glad to have days free of the parks.

I could drag the family over to the other place and see WWHP. :rotfl:

Wonder what Grumpy would say about that. Grumpy has been there but the rest of the family hasn't.

I would highly recommend taking a day trip over to Clearwater. We had an absolutely fabulous day there on our last trip. We enjoy the Gulf side so much more than the Atlantic.

Keep in mind that if you aren't staying onsite at US/IOA to take advantage of early entry then you are going to have to wait in some VERY long lines to visit/ride in WWOHP. I'm not saying don't go - just prepare yourself and your family for it.

You should be just fine. The days when you're not in the park and hanging out at the resort and/or pool are some of the best days of the entire trip:thumbsup2
