Me(22) and my BF(22) will be staying @ Sheraton Universal Wed 3/18-Fri 3/20-Do these plans sound reasonable or can we not do it all?

Wed 3/18: we arrive at SNA at noon and are renting a car, I'm not sure what time we will get to the hotel...? Then we want to go to Rodeo Drive and Santa Monica Pier, stay for sunset.

Thurs 3/19: Walk/take shuttle to Universal Studios in the morning(idk how long we'll stay) Later in the afternoon take the subway to Hollywood, see the Chinese Theater, walk of fame, etc. Take subway to 7:30 Lakers Game.

How much time will I need in Hollywood & at Universal? When should we plan on leaving for the Lakers game? Am I missing anything that we should see? Thanks!

I forgot to add...we are leaving on 3/20 to go to DL we will prob be leaving between 10-11am so we won't have time to do any exploring that day, thanks!

Yikes. I think I'd head for Santa Monica beach right from SNA, because going to your hotel is going to put you in a real mess. By the time you check in and everything, you're going to be in CRAZY afternoon traffic and you'll be right in the middle of it.....Universal area to Bev Hills, and Bev Hills to Santa Monica can be a nightmare between 3:30pm and 8pm .
So I'd say, if possible...use the restrooms at SNA, pack everything in the trunk, head to Santa Monica, stay past sunset, then do some Rodeo drive window shopping on the way back, hitting the sunset Strip afterwards (maybe 8:30pm?)...and then getting to Universal well past traffic hours.

Plan B would be zoom up to Universal at noontime, and just go to the park and stay until closing. (2:00 to 6pm is enough time for the park, really, just plan ahead what you want to ride and see (Lucy Museum is a must) Then subway down to Hollywood Boulevard which is a 5 min walk followed by 5 min on the subway....and most the the "Walk of Fame" area can be experienced in an hour or two. Eat at maybe 25 Degrees or lucky Devils.
Next day, wait out the traffic until about 9:45, then head to Rodeo Drive, maybe the FABULOUS Getty Center, then off to Santa Monica and be sure to stay until at least 8pm before you head back.

Oops, almost forgot....heading to Laker game the subway will be crowded, but you're getting on at a pretty early stop so should have a seat no problem. You can leave at 6:15 and you should get to Staples in your seats by 7:00 at the latest.
Or, if you leave Hollywood at 5pm, you'll get off at 7th Street Metro Center at around 5:20, can walk south on Figueroa and you'll come to California Pizza Kitchen and a couple of other restaurants, you'll have 90 minutes to dine then just two blocks walkt to Staples Center.
