REAS/Palo Question

I have a question I'm hoping someone can answer. We'll be cruising with three other families and therefore will be dining together. DH & I are doing the REAS and plan to (of course) eat at Palo's one night...my question is, when I make the ressie for Palo's for my DH and I, can I also include the three other couples on our ressie even if they aren't doing the REAS and therefore aren't "eligible" for an advance Palo reservation? We want to all dine together at the same night at Palo's.

Thanks a bunch!
Lisa

I'd definitely ask Debbie when you make your reservations. The worst she can do is say no. I would think that they'd probably let you do it. Let us know how it turns out!

I'd like to know too. Let me know what you find out!

and was told "NO" quite emphatically. Apparently there have been cases where one couple booked the reas package and tried to bring entire large families with them. Since the advance reservations were the sole reason I booked REAS, I kinda wish I hadn't bothered!

Well, there's are answer. That kinda stinks, although I do understand. I guess the other couples have to book an REAS or if they want to join us, guess they'll have to rush to Palo's to try to get with us. Bummer....thanks for the info!

Now I'm wondering about the dining rotation....if we do the REAS and select our dining rotation, can I get our non REAS friends on the same dining rotation? We want dine together on the cruise, that much is for sure. That would stink if the answer is "no". As much as I want to do the REAS, I'd rather not have it if it means we can't dine with our friends...it would be kinda hard to celebrate my 40th birthday with our friends if they have a different dining rotation!!!!

Thanks,
Lisa

were "linked" with those of our friends. Your travel agent can do it for you, but each family has to do it themselves - in other words, it's not sufficient for you to say link me to john smith. They have to request to be linked with listerann too.

Remember that w/REAS, your dining rotation request is not guaranteed -- it's just a request that they will try to honor as a courtesy to those booking the REAS, but it's not a "guaranteed" part of the pkg. So no matter what rotation you choose, you need to double check when you board to make sure that you got it and that your friends are on the same rotation. Otherwise, it's off to the dining change request location on board.

Thanks LindaBabe! We all have the same TA and she linked our reservations right when we booked (at all our requests). She also knows we have the REAS package and that our friends don't so it looks like it will be handled. I think I'll confirm with her just to make sure!

I just got back from the Western cruise in July and had booked the REAS package. We were traveling with one other couple and their kids. When I booked the dining reservation at Palo with Debbie, she made the reservation for 4 people. She also gave me a brunch reservation for 4 people at the same time. It was really nice. Actually, even though the cruise was completely sold out, we could have easily made Palo reservations as we boarded. We also had no trouble getting reservations later on in the week (because we enjoyed the restaurant a lot and it was nice to be away from the kids.)

However, eating at Palo's takes a long time and we couldn't do some of the fun activities that were going on because we had committed to a long dinner.

Isn't it a shame to be confronted with such dilemmas: to eat at Palo or to participate in the family scavenger hunt?

:confused3

Oh! Also, our reservations were linked to my friends, so we had a table to ourselves.

QUESTION :

My TA just got me the package for my April cruise. Said I would receive a call 30-60 days out. I thought I read where folks actually call disney after making the package reservation. Is there a certain number to call and if so how far out should I call?

Help?
