I have just decided to add a 3 night DCL cruise to the end of our trip, which rearranged quite a bit. This would put us going to the parks on Thanksgiving weekend. we were already going on the Sunday, we are just adding Saturday. Is it too packed or should we go for it, because an extra day is worth it?

Which park do you think would be the better choice on Saturday. More than likely we will still be off site Friday-Saturday morning, so EE won't be an option that morning.

I've heard that parks that open with EE, tend to draw the biggest crowds for that day. As of now, MGM Studios has EE on Saturdays, so if you don't like big crowds, I'd suggest skipping this park on Saturday. Especially since you can't take advantage of EE. :) www.wdwig.com lists the EE days for the parks.

An extra day is always worth it. (Of course this is an opinion from someone who is going to be there Christmas day. ;) I've never been to WDW during Thanksgiving, but from what I've heard, the crowds start leaving after Thanksgiving. Although, I'm not really sure about the weekend that follows Thanksgiving. WDW might still be pretty busy since a lot of people have off a 4 day weekend for the holiday. Thurs, Fri, Sat., Sun. This could draw a big crowd from the surrounding Orlando area.
Just a thought...

Hope this helps.

The worst crowds we've ever encountered at the MK were on the week-end following Thanksgiving. That may have been a fluke that particular year, but I'd suggest visiting ANYWHERE but the MK !!!!

Our first day of vacation was the Sunday following Thanksgiving. We went to EE at MK and it was packed! The rest of the week was great but that Sunday we left by 11am
