Rearrange my whole itinerary for A&E?

We are adding a day also because I got E&A FP+. My daughters are 7&9 and are huge frozen fans! I did not want to risk the wait so it is so worth it to add the extra day. Have a great time.

I guess it means that I *might* be more willing to bend on my rigid "no way no how" for a tiny girl who wouldn't realize it was costuming. But a fifteen year old who knows that would not be getting me to bend.

I do. That's why I can't see spending so much time or effort on ONE piece of the trip - because it's disney WORLD..

You don't have to understand it. No one is forcing you to do it. For other people it's important enough to spend their time on it. Why does it matter to you what other people do?

It doesn't, but the OP asked if she should rearrange her entire itinerary around this one point. So I shared my opinion, and why I hold that opinion. Someone asked me to clarify why I remarked about it being a fifteen year old needing so desperately to meet A&E in order for the trip not to be a disaster.

It's not just A&E - I don't get how ANY one item can make or break a trip. I mean, for heck's sake you get to go to DISNEY WORLD! Isn't that enough?

Also - if someone could explain in a way that could make me understand, perhaps they could change my perspective.

If it's THAT important, then add the extra day.. Once you reach a certain amount of days it's really cheap to do it.

what time is your FP? If its before noon, then head out the MK a bit earlier, have DH take care of getting luggage moved, checked-out, checked in and have him meet you guys at MK or the new resort. If he doesnt have to be there.

This way you and your DDs same time and you guys can still get back early for DTD or resort time.

I appreciate your perspective that if a ride is down or broke that it doesn't ruin your entire trip. That is healthy.

I am struggling with your perspective on this A and E discussion though. True - they are just people dressed up and surely the 15 year old knows that. BUT - I think in a FAMILY vacation that its important to make sure that everyone gets to pick atleast one 'must do' that gets worked into the plans. I don't think I would want my teenager to remember it as the trip where her younger sister got to go on barnstormer 15 times in a row and she didn't get what she really was hoping for. For my family of 4 - the extra 40$ to upgrade for another day in the parks is not a vacation budget buster. And when I read the OPs post, I didn't interpret it as a 'rigid' schedule just their current 'plan'. I think the premise of their plan - a chill day - is a good idea - thus I think a low key day in the park taking advantage of FP+ and eating lunch in the afternoon without a full commando day will still be enjoyable and can give them some of that feeling.

Lastly - 15 year old girls are a breed all their own - emotionally, hormonally, physically etc - I think that sometimes having parents go a little out of their way to show that they care can be helpful. Most parent/teenager relationships involve heated topics about too much cell/texting, boys, grades etc. when you have a chance to find a common ground that everyone can enjoy and have fun with to get away from the drama of teenagers, I think it's worth indulging.

Obviously at 15 I'm sure the OP's DD knows it's not the real A&E.. It's the experience of interacting with the characters and having photos to remember it that's enticing. I'm 25 and would love to meet A&E if I was able to get a fast pass... Unfortunately can't get my husband to agree to that one Different people have different priorities when they go to Disney. Obviously meeting their favorite characters is important to them.. No need to ask sarcastic questions because it's not something you'd like to do.

Fortunately I get to meet my favorites (Belle and Beast) at our character breakfasts To the OP I'm sure it would make for wonderful memories for your DD if you added the extra day to give her the opportunity to meet A&E. Aside from that, if take any excuse I had for an extra day at Disney World

You do realize that it is all relative to the eye of the beholder. on what's 'worth it' And, quite honestly, if my DDs are teens and I can find anyway to engage them in a 'magic' moment and it's a relatively inexpensive and simple fix, I'm going to be all over that!

I would add a day to just the 15 year olds ticket and Let her enjoy a MK day to herself and take my son somewhere fun just for him.

For the record, if you are the type of person that doesn't 'get' the situation, I don't think any amount of explaining will help. I don't get the big deal with TSM but don't begrudge those that love it and will wait the long queues to ride it... good on them for being passionate!
Why not assume that other people have different priorities and think "well, that's nice - they seem happy with that solution and if they use their FP+ for an A/E M&G, they won't be waiting in line for a ride I want!"

EDIT: Just saw your response above. I have no problem with people offering opinions but questioning their reason or logic and basically demeaning their choice seems a little overboard, though. Yes, these are peoplein costume pretending... but, then again, isn't that sort of the point of Disney? You're not really in Europe at EPCOT, you're not really in a Hollywood Studio... but it's fun to feel that way.

Actually it was me, the OP'r when you said FIFTEEN! YEESH! And that was all you said. You didn't give your opinion at ALL. And I never said our trip would be a disaster, nor did I say my DD "desperately" needed to see them. You inferred all of that. And actually the whole point is, I DID get a fastpass so we won't have to wait for hours. I get it, you think characters are ridiculous, you don't have to say it over and over, I get it. We all get it! Lol!

Also, I don't think characters are ridiculous. I think meeting them if it works out that way is fine - just like I think doing anything else at WDW is fine if it works out that way. But for me no single thing makes or breaks a trip to the happiest place on earth.

I'm glad you've got it worked out. You 're not really rearranging your *whole itinerary* at all- just modifying part of a day.

My 15 and 12 DDs voted to use a FP on A&E and I stayed up to 11 pm last Thursday to secure it. DD15 totally relates to Anna (such as suggesting soup, roast and ice cream for the wedding reception- at the theater we all looked at DD after that line as she has a thing for those foods). My girls like the sister thing. And they have Anna & Elsa t-shirts. My girls are still very much into the characters thing. DD15 spends a lot of time drawing characters- maybe she should bring her A&E drawings to show them...

We like to have fun with the characters if possible, beyond the sign/hug/photo and fun characters really add something to our vacation. Some of our best memories at WDW are from character interactions, like Rapunzel and Flynn in 2011. They were fantastic. DD drew a Wanted poster in her autograph book of Flynn with a big nose. He reacted just like in the movie, then spent some time sketching in her book. We have the best pictures of him reacting and drawing and Rapunzel laughing over his shoulder and such.
