Really worried

Still sending you lost of :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: that they get the airport cleared by Friday! What time is your flight?

Do they not realise that you have a date with the main mouse???

Hi Fiona

How are you doing? We requested a full refund from Easyjet should take 7 days. As far as the hotel goes we have a £50 excess each but as Easyjet couldn't offer us another Edinburgh flight in 12 hours its classed a abandonment so we can claim back the hotel cost, ours were booked seperately too. We just have an annual post officve policy so I assume thats bog standard. I had called them on Sunday to ask about the what if's.....

Its not looking good, airport closed to 6am but you never know, standby wouldn't be a problem for you with easyjet as they are cancelling their flights and offering you a full refund or allowing you to transfer to an available flight (ie must still have seats available) or at least thats my understanding.

Fingers crossed.

Wendy x

Thanks for your kind wishes everyone:goodvibes

If we can't fly out on the friday flight we will just have to cancel as this was a quick weekend trip to see santa and I have to be back for work on Monday. My insurance is with Debenhams so fingers crossed.

The forecast for friday does look better, but there is snow forecast again tonight and tomorrow.

We're going to pack, but I'm not going to go mad getting the bits I still hadn't got round to. Will try and get to the bank tomorrow to change some money just in case.

Oh fingers and toes crossed you get to go!! Today and tomorrow is to bad, and it is meant to start clearing on friday... here's hoping!

Our flights not until 5.35 pm so hopefully if things are a bit better on friday they might have cleared the runways by then. Might take my own shovel;)

Fingers crossed for you, hope you manage to get there OK. So far we have only had 1 cm of snow here.

Some links that may help:

If you need to get the train, you can take a 100 Airlink bus from Waverly station to the airport www.lothianbuses.com (.co.uk is the normal site) is showing service updates. The 100 was on a reduced service earlier today.

http://www.edinburghairport.com/ for flight info. If you have an iPhone, plane finder will show you where your plane physically is. This info is available on-line at http://planefinder.net/ but the app is pretty cool! The free version is only updated 4 times a day so woth paying for the full version.

http://trafficscotland.org/ for up to date road info, they also have an iPhone app that shows minute by minute camera feeds from the motorways and Edinburgh bypass. The camera are also on their website.

There is also a good app called "My airport - Service officiel d'Aeroports de Paris" which is in French but is fairly easy to use, it shows arrivals and departures from CDG - we used it both ways in May because of the ash clouds.

Sorry if I've given you all this iPhone info and you don't have one, just useful apps I've picked up along the way, most will run on iPod touch as well but you'll need an internet connection.

Hope all goes well and you get there. I advised someone at work today against travelling to Dundee (I'm from there) as they were trying to get there via the Kincardine Bridge due to the Forth bridge being closed. They've taken my advice but the bridge is now open again.

The airport was on the news the other night explaining how difficult it is to keep clear the runways and entry points and the pull-back areas (I always though it was push-back but maybe that's only if you are on the plane) clear of snow - it's a very large area.

I'm crossing my fingers for you and hoping you can get there. :grouphug:

Thank you Johnny Boy. Unfortunately don't have an ipod (daughter lost hers and Santa is bringing a new one but santa hasn't done his christmas shopping yet:rolleyes1) Going to take laptop and dongle with us so will be able to access internet wherever we are.

I think even getting to the airport is going to be a challenge. Its good to hear that the bridge is open again. Thats one less worry.

Hope you get to go hun!!!..

and I know its not my thread but THANK YOU for all the info on insurance etc guys!!!.xxxx

Edinburgh Airport shut until 4pm today. :sad1:

Good luck to everyone trying to get away :wizard:

Yes, Santa has an increasing Wish List on Amazon, and is worried about delivery so not ordering just now. I'm not sure even his sleigh will get down our street... When a snow plough gets stuck outside your house, it says a lot! We had a phone call on Tuesday to let us know something we were getting delivered the day before hadn't been delivered....

We did get I delivery on Tuesday. The driver couldn't get near my house so he walked with...DD's snow boots. When I told him what was in the parcel he thought it was hilarious.

We've had more snow here this morning. OH has spent all morning trying to dig the car out of the drive and get out of the street (just in case:rolleyes:)

Jenny I hope the airport is cleared wuickly for you. What time is your flight? We might both get stuck at Disney:scared1:

Our flight is 7.15am so we need to leave at 4.30 am to get there. The airport is shut until at least 5pm today so I'm watching the website like a hawk! Just had an email from John @ Ezyshuttle checking what's going on!

Fingers crossed we both manage to get there...:worship:

Oh I am keeping eveything crossed for you all, that you get there :guilty:

Well Southampton airport is now open :faint: and *touch wood* our flight isn't on the list of cancellations for tomorrow (yet) so it looks as though I will be finishing the packing after all. Hopefully the roads will be ok, if the airport is open and I can't get there I really wouldn't be amused! :sad2:

Fifi, the BAA site said that Edinburgh was open now??? :confused3 Fingers crossed for you too!! Hopefully we will both get there after all  :worship: :wizard:

Edinburgh airport is open, lets just hope it stays that way overnight and we can get there. Don't have any money exchanged yet so will do that first thing in the morning. Haven't been able to get into town because of the weather.
