Really Real Newbie ??

Im looking for a FAQ somewhere about DVC. The only thing I get is that I have to come up with 14k, sign a contract...and after doing so, I am entitled to XXX? many points per year to use at the Resort with which I have the contract. If I dont want to use my points I can rent? Or accumulate?

Some details on this would be really welcome.

Also - I found a site DVCResales - that has like 50 points for 5K. Im so confused. So does that mean I would only get 50 points a year if I bought such a timeshare?

I just joined this board a few days ago to learn more about DVC specifically. I'm by no means an expert, but just by reading as many topics as I can, I've figured out a TON and learned more than I thought was available to learn. At first I was lost with all the acronyms etc but figured most of those out I think. Just read read, read, read this forum, ask specific questions if you weren't able to search and find the answer on your own, and enjoy.

I've been emailed and PM'd by some of the nicest, most helpful people as well.

Is it true the DVC contract is only valid until 2042.

All of the "sold out" resorts (OKW, VB, HHI, BCV, BWV, VWL) expire on January 31, 2042.
SSR expires on January 31, 2054

And yes, they are deeded.
