Ok well we have booked at POFQ but now DD 23 wants to go. Great!! However, DS, and DD have strongly expressed their HORROR of sharing a bed. I know that Alligator Bayou has the trundle beds. Should I change reservations to AB or stay where we are. I have arthritis in my hips so walking any long distance every morning for breakfast or going from bus stops to long treks to the room after walking all day in the parks just doesn't thrill me. (THat is the main reason we chose POFQ.) So, DH suggested either changing resorts or bringing a fold up cot for DS to sleep on. What would you do?

You could have you and DD in one bed, and DH & DS in the other. If your DS is older, he would not be very comfortable in the trundle at POR.

DS is 10. Kindo short for his age, too. I think he may fit on the trundle OK.

because there are only four of you, there is no guarantee that you will get an AB room w/a trundle... you'd be better served asking for (and unfortunately paying for) a rollaway... or perhaps switch to a value resort and get two rooms or a suite (paying for preferred would help your hip)... we are a two room family (even before we went from four to five last month!) :)

I would have to agree with the other poster, you can share with DD and DH and share the bed wtih DS. I can understand your DD not wanting to share with her brother, if they were both much younger that would be different. The other thing would be to switch to POR like you suggested for the trundle bed and try to get a preferred room so you are a bit closer.

I've slept in the trundle as an adult and I was fine so your DS10 will be a-okay! I say switch to AB but make sure you put in a request for the building you want because the grounds are quite spread out.

Exactly...a 'boys' bed and a 'girls' bed. This is what my family does all the time whenever we go on vacation and share a hotel room.

Its really no big deal to spend a week or so in a different bed than your spouse so everyone can be comfortable.

Agreed...it's time to divide the guys and girls...especially if you need to minimize the expenses.

you can buy an air mattress pretty cheap these days.

I think POFQ will bring you a cot - but you might have to pay more for it.

plus for you - get a free wheelchair at the hotel. you don't need to be walking the parks not with arthritis. now sometimes you might feel more like pushing the wheelchair to help you walk. that is fine too. these chairs are pretty easy to push and they definitely can help you walk.

remember there is NO restuarant at POFQ. so your breakfast will have to be at the food court. the restuarant is at POR.

We do..."boys boys girls girls", that's what DD called it a couple years ago, and it stuck.

When ever we're in a hotel, its "boys boys girls girls", which makes me happy because DH is a bed hog and I can easily sleep with my 50 pound DD :goodvibes

The double beds are too small for DH and I to sleep together so DH and DS sleep in one and DD and I sleep in the other. It works very well so far. :thumbsup2

At 10 I would love to sleep on the floor in a sleeping bag. Just tell him its a disney/camping trip, 2 vacations in one.

Will Disney allow 3 adults and two children in a room with the trundle beds? This is the only way my friend with 3 kids (18, 17 and 15) could afford to go.

Get an air mattress (twin size) I have used one at POFQ, CBR, and all the values. Your ten year old will fit on the trundle but as others have said its not guranteed for a family of four.

I have a boy and a girl and they won't (and no longer should for that matter) sleep in the same bed. So the airbed has worked for us. We did a rollaway at CSR because we were going on a cruise and I didn't want to have to lug the airbed when I had so much luggage to take on the cruise anyway. It was around $17 a night. And it took up more room than the airbed and couldn't be stored as easily. For my airbed, I take a bottom sheet and then ask housekeeping to bring me a sheet and a blanket. The rooms always have extra pillows.

My dh and I like to sleep together so we just don't feel like doing the "each of us sleep with one kid". Mostly because I don't want to sleep with my wiggly dd! But if that works for you, than that would be even easier than the airbed.

I think that your ds will be fine on the trundle. My dd 15 slept on it two years in a row and had no complaints. She even had her little brother (2):rotfl2: to share it with from time to time.

I am sure they would. We had 6 people in the room two years in a row. (ds was 1 and 2 at the time) The other kids were younger that yours. Last year they were 15,11, and 8.

Book POR. Request AB section plus trundle bed.

But again, POR will not guarantee a trundle bed room for a party of four. They keep those for families with five kids. So there's a chance her request won't be met.

*exactly*
i strongly suggest having a backup plan!
