I won an auction for a week at BWV when a very lovely woman donated her points to the Make a Wish foundation. Since my husband has a conference it was perfect except there was only enough points for 7 out of 9 days of our trip. The first and last nights are uncovered. Not a problem for the first night since we are arriving late and plan on staying at the Renaissance near the airport then get up early and head to BWV.

The problem is adding a night to the BWV reservation. CRO told me to call MS and MS said they can not link the reservation to one I place at CRO and they can not guarantee me the same room. Even at check in, they can not quarantee I won't have to move. My husband HATES a split stay and hates to move. We've done it before and had a problem getting into our room at GF coming from BCV and our luggage didn't arrive until late in the evening as it was a busy Sat night.

If I rent points can I link the reservations?

If not, what are the chances of us having to move?

I've never stayed at any DVC property and was excited about the one bedroom but now am nervous about getting thrown out of our room.

Any advice would be appreciated!:wave2:

As you have never stayed at a DVC resort, I assume you are not a DVC member, and that the point you won at auction is your first experience with points.

I first would contact the lady that donated the points to see if she has any additional points she is willing to rent to you to extend the reservation. If she does not have additonal points...yes, you can rent them from another member...assuming there is availability at BWV for the night you want. As MS doesn't normally talk to non-members, once you have the reservation for the additional night, you may need the lady who auctioned, as well as the owner who rents you the additional night, to contact MS to link the reservations.

Please note that it is possible for CRO to have rooms available, but for MS to have no rooms on DVC points, they come from separate room inventories, so if a DVC member tells you that no room is available, yet you see it on the regular Disney website...renting through CRO may be your only option.

I'd really hate to bother that woman again. She already had a week in March booked and was gracious enough to change it to when my DH had a convention in December.

Maybe I'll talk him into moving over to BC or GF for the last night. I have some great memories at both places lingering at the pool bar until the last moment. Our flight doesn't leave until the afternoon, so we will have time to sleep in, grab some lunch and relax before we leave.

If it's for December, move quickly on your strategy. DVC rooms are already fillinf and some dates sold out.

You could also contact the lady from the auction and book through MS on member cash I think, which is 25% off rack rate and can link to your original ressie because they are both thru MS. At least that is what I think... but I'm brand new to DVC.

Member cash rooms are only supposed to be occupied by members but it's been reported that they are not enforcing that rule.

How about a night at Boardwalk Inn? They share luggage service so there is no issue with luggage arriving late.

Thank you all for your replies! We've decided to move to BC for the last night. I'd love to spend Sat. afternoon and Sunday morning at SAB.

Thanks again!!
