I've never asked for references. Just seems like it would be too easy to make that up and "refer" a friend or relative. I do ask about the management company and frequently I'm able to find the management company online and fine the home listed there too. I also want to know about the management company because there are a few with bad reputations. I ask quite a few details such as whether there's internet access, ceiling fans, hair dryers, etc. I guess I get a general good or bad "vibe" from the owner as to how they respond to my questions. If I get a bad feel, then I move on to another property. But, really checking the tax record reassures me a lot!

I just booked a 5 bedroom villa for much less than they were advertising. Their ad said $995 per week and we are paying $1400 inclusive of taxes for two weeks. More than $700 off! Two weeks in July 2009 and we get to bring our dogs! And it's not far from AK on the west side. We don't like the east side of 192, it's way too busy.

I'm a wee bit nervous about the whole foreclosure thingy. We'll just have to have hope the key is there when we arrive!

We got a 4 bedroom house w/pool and games room in May for under 1000 all incl. for 10 days. Without dogs we may have been able to do a little better even. Prices are good right now and people are willing to negotiate.

We got a wide range of quotes for our upcoming June trip. We ended up booking a 3-bedroom, 2-bath condo at Windsor Palms for 22 nights for $850, including cleaning and tax!

Spend some time doing enquiries and you'll get lots of offers--we had over 100 to choose from when doing one at WH and WP.

tiggerplus5, Mysteria & AStamm could you please PM me some more info on the houses you found, please? I am new at this WDW planning and can use all the help I can get!

I have a four bedroom three bath villa booked for May 24 - 31 for $470 total. It is not in WH but is at Venetian Bay Villages about a 15 minute drive to Disney off 192. You don't have to pay a fortune to have a great place to stay.
