I'm a Florida resident and I had to cancel our reservations due to having to evacuate from hurricane Irma and I have to say I am so impressed with Disney that they allowed us to get our points back with no penalties. I was suppose to go to Moonlight magic tonight and stay 3 nights. I cancelled Monday Sept 11 for a 9-13 to 9-16 reservation at the BLT 1 Bedroom. They already handled the whole transaction which is incredible since most of the cast members were affected by the hurricane themselves.

So if you need to talk with a cast member please note that the residents of Florida have been through a huge ordeal and just the fact that they are back helping everyone is amazing. Most of us haven't slept in 4 or 5 days and are totally exhausted. Orlando got a lot of the damage since they were on the East side of the hurricane.

But DVC was incredible with their members. In the big picture I was so fortunate to have no damage to my house that if losing 96 points was the worse thing that IRMA did then I was okay, but it was so nice to see my points returned. That is why I go to Disney all the time and actually felt good about buying a time share at Disney. They really stepped up to the plate.

Thank you DVC. I really appreciate it.

NOW The Marriott... that is another story... They really stink.. They surcharged me in the middle of a Mandatory evacuation (I live in a Flood Zone ) $100 for my dog on top of $156 a night.

Tink-in-Belle, I am glad you got your points returned, and I am happy your house was not damaged.

I signed an on line petition calling for Holiday Inns to allow dogs, pets under the recent circumstances. I believe their policy was changed. Marriott should be called out for its stand.
