You have all been DVC members longer then me. As far as incentives go, how does this one compare to previous ones?

It could definately be better!! All they really did was revert prices back to where they were prior to the increase:rolleyes:. With that said I bit:cool1: 125 pts. at BLT:banana:.

This is better than I expected on the new properties, BLT and VGC. There was a time when people speculated that these two would go for $125 and up, and that they'd sell out in a matter of months. Many people feared that VGC would not last to reach sales to the public.

Nobody can predict anything accurately in this economy, but I'm not waiting around for it to get better on these properties.

I think that they are decent incentives but I do believe, depending on how they spark sales, things could get better in the future.

I was able to take advantage of the new incentives over the old, since I had not yet closed, and feel it works out better for me than the DP's I was getting.

I think the fact that one of the incentives is simply price points will spark more sales of those who were on the fence about becoming a member or members adding on.

For me, I am paying $96.00 per point for my add on contract at BLT and am very happy with that since I am basically able to get 130 point contract for roughly the same thing I was paying for a 115 point one under the old incentives.

Good luck!!!

Does anybody know what the down payment requirement is for a 50 point add on. Also, what about closing costs?

I'm not sure but I think it may be the regular 10% down payment requirement and there are no closing costs when buying directly from DVC.

I don't think there has been anything better than the incentive back in 1994 to 1999 where if you bought you would get park passes for 2 for the length of stay anytime you reserved at OKW, of course which was the only DVC resort at the time. This was for 5 full years and expired in 1999. It was 4 park passes if you reserved a 2 bedroom but 2 for a studio and 1 bedroom. We would come down from Massachusetts at the time for 8 - 9 days twice a year. That in itself paid for 25% of the membership.

When we bought we were able to get in with a "Friends and Family" incentive. At the time, SSR was the only new resort for sale and the "regular" incentive was $10 off / point. We knew someone who was an owner and with their referral were able to get an additional $5 off ($15 total) per point. That enabled us to buy about 25 points more than we would've bought without the additional $5 off. IMO $15 off / point is a SALE!! There were no other teasers or options available (no dev. points or cruises or passes or any such thing). Just a good old fashioned decent discount.:rolleyes1
