As you're the only lot of people I can broach this subject with without being laughed at I need to ask a question.

DH and I would really like to renew our vows at WDW after seeing a wedding being set up on the beach outside The Yacht Club. As we'd like our nearest and dearest to join us what is the best place to use for a block booking for a large party.

This won't be till Nov 2015 ...... as I said in the title "Really forward thinking" :rotfl2::rotfl2: and we may well need up to 8 rooms. Obviously if Disney run a "free dining package" in 2014 for bookings in 2015 we will definitely take advantage of it but I was just wondering if anyone knows if a particular tour operator is better than others at this size of booking.

TIA :goodvibes

sadly, i don't know the answer for you-but i must congratulate you on your forward planning-most impressive:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

hope some fellow diser will asssist you soon :cool1:

We got married in disney a few years back now - it was the most wonderful day and I wouldnt hesitate in renewing my vowels there!

Depending on your party size I believe you have 2 options - if your group is fairly small you can do a intermate renewal and you can book these through a travel agent in this country - I am pretty sure virgin holidays offer them. This is a fixed price renewal with a pretty standard plan of your day.

If you would like more people then you will need to go direct through disney. This is when you can plan your renewal with bells and whistles (Unfortunatly the price tag comes with it) There is a minimum amount that you need to spend and also a minimum amount of room nights that your party need to stay in disney property.

If you are just starting out I would head over to the weddings thread on this board and have a look around there - I got a wealth of information from the guys on that section.

Enjoy your planning - the more time the better!!

I would say to try to book the renewal day etc at least through Disney themselves. If you book through virgin you end up having an additional wedding planner who communicates with the Disney planner and it makes everything long winded and more complicated.

I know my friends would recommend booking through Disney direct as they personally had a few issues with virgin.

We also got married in disney in 2008 and ooked direct with disney, the amount of freedom you have with them is much better than going through a third party

We are also looking at a vow renewal at some point too

We had a fantastic day which ended with a private illuminations dessert party for around £6000 back in 2008

The limit is just your imagination and budget with disney :-)

Happy planning

We got married at the yacht club December 2010 and it was amazing :bride:

We also booked he wedding directly with disney and then had a website for friends and family with advice on booking, we ended up block booking a number of rooms at the dolphin as we got an amazing deal (same price as a disney moderate) and we got an upgrade to a huge suite :goodvibes

I dont think there ever is a too early point to planning, we found family needed nearky two years notice for holiday/saving etc :thumbsup2

I got married in Disney in 2010 and we booked with Virgin.

You start with the basic package and you do get a Virgin wedding planner however we didnt book anything with Virgin at all other than the initial booking.

As soon as we were given our Disney wedding planner I did everything through her and she was fab, it made no difference at all that we hadn't booked directly with them. We could upgrade anything.

As we booked as a package we were able to upgrade from the 5 day ticket that comes with the package, pay £15 and get the 14 day ticket and dining plan as we stayed on property. :yay:

I agree with the other comments about the Virgin planner, they were really distant and not particularly helpful. We didnt see them while we were in the states at all and she only called us midway through the day before the wedding when we had done everything.
