Nope not misguided at all, just observant of the "enthusiasm" that some of the posters attack the President on non-issues. A lot of obvious reaction.

and while I agree that I am entitled to my own opinion here, please feel free to not give me advice on how I post. I did not specifically call any one poster racist, but if the shoe fits..well, they, in their own minds, know if they are or not. So a poster that is not racist will not take offense. And those that are, maybe they will see that others can see through a facade and realize that racism is a terrible thing in any form, isn't it?

What's killing me here is that people are neglecting too see this isn't
a sympathy thread for Obama...it's a thread concerning how illogical I found the conclusions already leapt to concerning his policies when there hasn't even been enough time to allow the ink to dry on them.

I would say this no matter what party was in office experiencing this. Like I said I looked back to the beginning of Bush Jr's time in office and I didn't find this level of rhetoric.

What I miss is being able to appreciate what each and every DISer has to offer on a thread. It has become a situation where you have to avoid certain posters (on both sides) if you don't want to get into political issues. I refuse to block posters because I feel that is my job. Besides, sometimes there is a lot to gain from listening to the other side of an argument.

What we need is to realize that this planet is not going to survive another hundred years unless we all start pulling together and doing what is needed. Same goes for this country. The big issue is what is right. If you don't feel the right things are being done then get active in your community. Get informed and decide what is right and fight for it in the right arena, not on a Disney board. I am old enough to remember when none of this stuff went on. I blame the onset of 24 hour news and cable TV where we are fed a diet of fear. We have nothing to gain from listening to other's opinions all day and night. Make up you own mind and then keep you opinion to yourself. Simple.

For the past three plus months every time I've wandered onto the community board I've seen countless new threads demonizing President Barak Obama.

Multiple times during the day I have found new threads digging incredibly deep to find any sort of minutia to twist and lambast...attempting to take any small tidbit of information and manipulating into a lengthy diatribe how within a mere two months in office this one man has cursed our nation.

Really...? Two months...?

You know I don't care what each and every one of the DIS members political leanings are...nor do I care to know the details of your personal politics...but I do know it's incredibly insane...yes insane...to believe that any sort of policy...package...etc...that's been enacted in the brief time President Obama has been in office has had any opportunity to be deemed a success or a failure yet!

I know the GOP and all its followers are still upset they lost the election...and who can blame them? Still the level of petty threads I have found here by President Obama's detractors is just...well it's just sad...

He's teleprompter dependent?

He's snubbed the Prime Minister of England?

He's compared himself to Lincoln?

I've read the source articles on these three subjects...and I'm sorry the threads that have derived from them are really reachy!

And these were just a few examples...I could go on...but honestly...it kind of turns my stomach.

Now I know what will be said...'what about the years of Bush Jr bashing?'...and I can't argue with there being years of it...but honestly...the man was in office for eight years...he earned the complaints he garned here during his presidency!

Oh yes...and I did my homework and went back in the DIS forums as much as possible...I found virtually NOTHING back when Bush Jr was orignally elected! Sure there were a few "Bush stole the election" threads and the like...but really...that's about it. Then...as Bush Jr's terms in office mounted...and after 9/11 and things in Washington and abroad began to crumble...the anti-Bush Jr rants mounted...but only then!

In closing...really my biggest upset is just how devisive the Community board has become. All the political nagging...for lack of a better term...makes me sad. Especially when as far as I can see...the majority of it is incredibly pre-mature.

I've actually been around the DIS since 2004 (long story) and as I mentioned in my OP...I acknowledge the Bush Jr bashing that has taken place...but like I said...from my research...it took some time...quite a it of time actually...for it to be anything other than...'he stole the election'...

I don't open the majority of the threads...the the titles of alone get to me to be honest.

I think a lot of people feel frustration with government in general. When the largest bill in our Nation's history had to be passed, prior to even being properly typed and submitted for Congress and the public to read, in order for pelosi to jet over to Europe on our dime, any respect for the bunch of them dissipated. I did not like Bush spending like a drunken sailor and I don't like this round of it, either.
