Just be careful. Hoppin' round like that...ya' might get hurt.

Ok. Color me confused. Are women (PUMA's) who were going to vote for Hillary then switched to McCain racists? Just trying to keep my scorecard up to date. TIA.

No, I'm just saying that there are lots of folks who voted in this election for reasons other than political beliefs. It happens every election, but was made more evident this year.

The only thing that would hurt me is letting someone else do my thinking. I'm good, thanks!:goodvibes

Shame there wasnt any thinking at all going on by some people in the last election :rotfl:

Unless you werent voting based on political platform, there is no way you can go from Hillary to McCain. Their political views were almost completely opposite. Even if you didnt vote for Obama, there were other candidates closer to Hillary in leanings than McCain would ever be.

So I stick by my call of ignorance.

So what if there are other candidates closer to Hillary? Did they have a snowballs chance in hell? Lets' face it, it's really a choice of only two. I'm sure that there were many Americans who were teetering, voting for the lesser of two evils. (I'm hopeful that will change in the future.)

Not everything is cut and dry, black or white. You have no idea why people voted the way they did. If you have those psychic powers, then you need to tell me if I should stop buying lottery tickets. popcorn::

So now that you know where I stand politically, would you have a bug up your butt towards me, now? For example, if you're conservative you must be against gay marriage? You must be 'this', you must be 'that', you might be a Redneck if......cut and dry? :confused3
I have a GFM, and I totally 100% believe in gay marriage and the rights and benefits that go along with it. But I won't vote based solely on that issue, whereas you might. I really don't know, so I won't assume. Am I a traitor? You have no idea why people vote the way they do - people can say one thing to your face, and do another.

FTR- I am not downplaying rascism, it exists. But that word needs to stop being thrown around and seeing what it sticks to.

I wasnt using rascism as a point in my posts, as much as people voting for reasons outside of political beliefs. Voting for someone with exact opposite political beliefs as your chosen candidate because that candidate did not get the nomination is just plain stupid. It shows that you dont stand by your beliefs, and dont really care about the issues.

If you really felt HIllary should have won, you could have written her in. That would have made more of a statement than voting for McCain.

Your post felt like a blanket statement to me. And how would you know if they wrote her in or didn't? Maybe they did. :confused3

And it shows that some of you are pissed off and feel betrayed by those who voted for McCain. But don't call them racist or ignorant. Again, you don't know why people vote the way they do. Not everyone is die hard Repub or Dem.

And FYI- I'm sure there are many who voted for Obama just because he had celebrities and Bruce Springsteen and BonJovi on his side. Not based on issues. I'm sure there a lot of people who walk into that voting booth totally cluless. :santa::rolleyes1 Those are the people we should be mad at. Unless of course they're voting for your guy.

When Bush was president there were countless threads criticizing and dissecting every word he said. Now that Obama is president, the same thing is happening. It is inevitable that when a person is elected that nearly half of the country did not vote for, people will not agree with his policies. I don't think this has anything to do with race.

I personally think you should have to take a basic test on the issues to be allowed to vote. Not your opinion on the issues, just the fact that you know what they are.

Nah, just laughing at how he said it :rotfl:

I will agree he did make quite a few errors in speaking. I did have the opportunity to hear him in front of an audience of only 200 or so people and was shocked that he spoke quite well. I guess when the media is focusing on airing every little mistake someone makes, they can make it seem like a person is not intelligent. I'm sure Obama will have his fair share of criticism too.

Of course there will always be "the other side" that disagrees no matter what. But what's being discussed here is the issue of Hillary supporters who were supposedly on the same side of the fence as Obama who changed shoes right after Hillary lost in the primaries. Ya don't agree with someone on the issues and the basis of that political party and then jump ship over night to the other side when your person loses and suddenly agree with the other side's issues unless you are missing a few brain cells. Those same people are now complaining of the decisions Obama is making which are the same decisions Hillary would have made. :confused3 Choosing a candidate should not just be an eeny-meeny-miney-mo procedure.

IDo, I consider McCain to be a liberal Republican, very close to the middle. So, I don't see it as being surprising that some Hillary supporters changed their support to McCain once Hillary was out. Now Palin is conservative, but she wasn't the one running for president.

Obama is about as liberal as you can get. Maybe some of the Hillary supporters did not agree with his policies. It happens. I really don't think Hillary would make the same decisions as Obama. She was at least a bit more...um, conservative (which isn't saying much).

Ah... now I get it. They're stupid racists!

Yep. ITA! :thumbsup2

And do they teach about it enough in school? I'm too old to remember. :rolleyes1

Whewee! I had to put my wine googles for this thread. :3dglasses

Is it even on topic anymore? :rotfl:
