Really dumb questions about MDE, FP+...

I need help! I consider myself a fairly seasoned visitor to the World, but these new systems are throwing me for a loop! We are new DVC owners, and will be taking our first trip on points in October. Maybe some of you can help?

Is there any way to do magicbands/FP+ if we are not buying our tickets until arrival? Or should we just plan on purchasing park tickets online now? How do you link them to your DVC reservation?

Also, when I log in to MDE, I can see my info and my ds's info, but not my dh or dd who are on the same reservation. Is that typical, and do I have to do something to fix it?

You can get MagicBands with a room only reservation (which DVC reservations are).

FastPass+ requires that you have valid park admission linked to MDX in order to make FP+ selections.

Keep in mind that this is still in the testing phase. Only certain resorts are part of the testing. I'm at BWV and that resort is not part of the testing, so no magic bands available to us or FP+.

Set up your MyDisneyExperience account if you have not already and link your DVC reservation in. (There are tricks to making sure MDE recognizes you as a DVC member, not sure exactly how but it did for me.)

You link all this to your MDE account, not to your DVC reservation.

Correct. BWV is not one of the current test resorts for arrivals through 10/31.

When I go into my account my DH is not there, because he has his own DVC account. I logged into MDE under his DVC account and his info was there. So perhaps that is where it is. On my account I have 3 cards assigned to me for myself and one for my son in law and granddaugther. Once I set up my daughter's account her informatin went there. however, I did take the friends and family and link us all together. A very time consuming job. Like you I wanted to be ready. However, my current PAP will not link to that account, but under my profile it shows I have an PAP, but probably the one I got before I had to switch it to the new green card PAP in the spring. Hopefully you are using the App version of the MDE also (if you phone permits). It's good to get use to that too. My reservations all show up there too.
