Really disappointed in Disney right now

And maybe just a bit angry too.

I just got an email from disney saying I'm not being considered anymore, and I NEVER even got a WBI. I waited two weeks for a WBI with the hope that I wasn't going to be cut until I got the chance to prove myself. It was completely unfair of Disney to ignore me for weeks and then never even give me a chance to provide more information than just my name and other basics.

Has this happened to anyone else here? Should I try to get in contact with someone from the college program?

Edit: Accidentally made a double thread. If someone could delete one, that would be great. I don't know if I can or how to delete it myself.

When did you apply? The later you wait in the semester to apply, the hardest is to make it to the next step. Because, Disney is starting to fill up many positions and deciding on what pended people to accept. Emailing them won't change anything because, once they deny an application (if it wasn't a mistake) there's nothing to do.

Apply next semester and early too!

Honestly, thats just the nature of the beast that is DCP. The acceptance rate is extremely low (< 10%). It is what it is. Try again next time.

And yeah e-mailing them wont do anything. You'll probably just get a generic automated response

You were told when you applied that not everyone would be interviewed. It is OK to be disappointed, but I wouldn't go as far as saying that it is unfair.

No company is obligated to interview anyone simply because they applied.

Companies will accept applications, screen them, and then interview those that they feel like interviewing based on what was on the application. Disney is no different. You filled out the *same* application as everyone else. You had the same chance to "prove" yourself as everyone did. They decided to not interview you based on the info you provided. That isn't unfair. That is life. The real world doesn't consist of giving out participant trophies.

The program is competitive. It is safe to assume that lots of people weren't asked to interview.

This article on their official blog may be worth reading too.

Hey its okay, I waited over a month and never got an interview and I got an email the other say saying that I am also no longer in consideration. Yeah it totally sucks because I really wanted to get in, but that's how it goes. Over 26,000 people apply for only about 6,000. Disney has to cut people, it sucks that it had to be you but it happened. I'm sorry, I can relate to your frustration, but the only thing you can really do now is wait and apply again next semester.

Actually at my housing meeting last summer I was told that over 70,000 people applied and they took less than 7,000. So yeah don't feel all that bad there are 63,000 other people in the same boat as you.

I never realized how lucky I was to get in to DCP until I joined these boards and realized what all of these people go through during the application process. I literally just saw an ad at my school for dcp, applied, set up my phone interview a few days later, had my phone interview and was accepted within hours of the interview. Its probably a completely different process for culinary CP's though.

Wow, I did not realize it was so competitive! I know the CP at Disneyland was, but I thought at Disney World it was about a fifty-fifty, or 1 in 3 chance. Now I'm scared :scared:

Culinary is different (I assume) because when my S was a CP in 2011, the culinary program was still open while the rest of the program closed.
