about the Pirate Treasure Hunt out of the GF resort. The write up that DIS has says it is for kids ages 3-10. I have been counting the days until I can make reservations for this, because my youngest is 3.5 and I would be able to put all 3 of them on the boat and wave Buh-Bye and get some "alone" time for 2 hours. Not to mention, the kids will LOVE it.

Today was the day I could call for the date I wanted (120 days out) the CM asked the ages of the children and I said 7,5, and 3.5. She said unfortunately, the kids have to be 4!!!!!! I aksed if she was sure, and she said yes. I told her the info I read said 3, she insisted they have to be 4. I almost begged. I told her he has been potty trained for over a year, so why does it matter that he is not 4 yet?....no go.

I am really upset. I was so looking forward to him FINALLY being able to do something with his brother and sister. He has always been too young. So when I saw this and saw the age was 3, I was so excited. He would of LOVED it.

How do I go about letting DIS know they have wrong information?

I just checked the disneyworld.com website and it indeed does say ages 4-10 for the Pirate Cruise...but it does say 3-10 for the Grand Adventures in Cooking and the Wonderland Tea Party. Couldn't your children do that together instead? I know how important it can be to get some time alone!!

I verify all information I get on any website...even Disneyworld.com!! Even WDW CM's don't always have the correct information. Keep in mind, the information on the Dis may be incorrect now but could have been changed recently by WDW and you could be the first person to notify the Dis of the change.

There is a FEEDBACK link on the HOME page of the DIS... I would start there when notiflying the DIS of this change.

well call me criminal but since your child is 3.5 now then in 110 days or so he will almost be 4 - I can't imagine that the disney people are going ask for a birth certificate

LOL...he will be 3 months shy of his 4th b-day when we are there. My DH said the same thing. "Just tell them he is 4. They don't check on kids that are being passed off as two, why would they check to make sure he is actually 4. He is big for his age, so he certainly looks 4"

Problem? I can't lie. No matter how much I want to, I can't bring myself to do it. Then I would just be stressed out the whole time that they will somehow know he is not yet 4. Like some sort of CM will have magical powers that enable to to just look at a kid and know their exact birthdate. Sad, I know.

It was a toss up between this and the Tea Party. I decided to do the Pirate Cruise on this trip and save the Tea Party for another trip. Guess I will just reverse it. Do you think boys will like the Tea Party? My oldest DS is 7.

Does anyone have any feedback about the cooking class? How is that? I never even considered it.

Thanks Donna! I will do that now. I looked on WDW.com, and couldn't find any onfo on the Pirate Cruise. I typed it in the search box, and all that came up was for Pirates of the Carribean. You must be good, or I was just so bummed out, I wasn't concentrating.

From what I heard, they just recently changed the age limit. I think it was only about 1-2 weeks ago that Disney changed the policy. DIS just might nt have had a chance to change it yet.

I sent you a PM on how to get to the info on disneyworld.com.

Don't be bummed, they will enjoy the Tea Party just as much. My DD is doing the Pirate Cruise and Grand Adventures in Cooking this trip.

Good Luck!!

I just signed both my kids up last night for Grand Adventures in Cooking for our October trip. DD is 5 and DS is 3.5.

Basically, the program is generally done with Chef Drew from the GF and the kids get real aprons to decorate (with multi-colored hand prints) and paper chef hats. They make a dessert creation (some I've read about: cookies, chocolate chip cheesecake, banana upside down cake, "dirt" cups with gummy worms, etc), learn about good cooking hygiene, and then parade through the GF lobby passing out their accomplishments to guests, family and CMs.;)

This could be perfect for ALL your kids, if you think they would enjoy this sort of thing. BTW, they get to keep the apron and hat.

Good luck!:smooth:

My DD has done the Tea Party three times and she LOVES it!!! She's also done the Pirate Cruise - although she really had a great time, she did say it was hot (she went in June).

We're trying the Grand Adventures in Cooking this time, as well as the Tea Party!

RJJR - when in October will your children be at the Grand Adventures? My DD will be there Oct 14 - she is so excited!!!!

Be careful though!

When children are asked a question....they usually tell the truth. If you try and pass them off as "4" they might insist that they are still "3"!!!! And then look at you like you are crazy!

Just a thought......

Donna,
I got your PM and this is a test, it is only test. I am going to try to put in a link, if it works, then I can tell you what I did. If it doesn't, then I don't know how. LOLhttp://www.parentsplace.com

The age limit for the PC must've changed recently. The range was 3-10 when my kids went on it this past April. Son was 3.5 at the time.

I seem to remember having read on the Family Board about the impending change in age cut-off--I was bummed that DS who would turn 3 at the time of our next visit won't be able to participate.

Oh, well, I guess we'll just have plan yet another trip to WDW when DS turns 4.:p

Magic2000,

My kids will be attending the GAIC on Friday morning, October 3rd.

I told them all about it yesterday and actually I found a little segment on it on my tape of the Disney Unwrapped show. We all watched it a couple times yesterday and it really got them excited to go!!!:D

It did recently change, my two DDs were signed up for this week and they are 3 and 6, however I did cancel it. But they are still going to the Tea Party and GAIC.

I passed along this info. Thanks for letting us know. :)
