Really basic Annual Pass Question(s)

Sorry to ask a really basic question; I buy an annual pass and they send me a voucher. Do I have one year to activate the voucher? I always thought that the voucher for an AP was good indefinitely until activated?

What are the facts as to how the AP works and is this something that has changed in recent years?

The annual pass exchange certificate is valid essentially forever.............until the day comes that you turn it into an actual "live" annual pass.

The AP gets you into all the parks all the time and gets you free parking.

We have had ours for the past several years and love it!

WDW is only about 7 hours away for us!
