So last December when we were in one of the stores at Epcot I think it was at Epcot, I can't recall the name, my son and daughter were playing with the toys and the Mr. Potato head pieces etc. I was talking to my daughter when out of the corner of my eye two young female cast members approached my young son and my dh, they had to bend down to him as he was only 2.5 at the time, and asked him if he wanted to play golf.

They had a little toy golf club and a golf ball. I wondered what they were doing and figured it was a sales person of that store just being nice to him. LOL. So he took the golf club and the ball and hit the ball into the thing and the CMs said YEAHHHHHH! and they clapped. I jsut giggled thinking what is that?! I went about my business with my daughter and my husband comes back over to me and hands me this blue certificate saying that my son had won a dream, playing golf. LOL

We thought it was a bit odd and funny and we just kinda shrugged and the more I thought about it later the more I realized that it was part of the YOAMD. I thought the dreams/prizes were big like castle stays, parade participation and fast passes, I had no idea they were doing little random things like playing with your kids at random places! Anyway, it was cute, but my son being only 2.5 didn't really "get it". :rotfl:

Just wanted to share. :goodvibes

similar happen with my son who is a little older. We were going to CRT for lunch. Our daughter was dressed up for the occasion and getting a lot of attention. I was videoing her on the carousel before lunch. My son began pulling on the sword in the stone, which I also caught on video. All of a sudden the sword started to come out. (It doesn't come all the way out. That would be a little dangerous.)

A CM came over and filled out a blue certificate naming him a prince of the realm, just in time for him to dine in the castle. She told him that he was able to pull the sword out because he really believed in magic. He talked about that for several hours and has the certificate in his room.

Like you we did not win any of the big prizes. Still the kids enjoyed and remember the trip. We'll see how much they remember when we go back in two years.

My 6 yo DD got one last week too - she was looking at the lady bug exhibit in Innoventions when a CM came over to talk to her. Then he hands her a tube with lady bugs inside and takes her outside to an area with flowers and asked her to let the lady bugs go free. Then he took her back inside and gave her a blue Dream certificate. She thought that was great!:)

my son got picked and we got to ride by ourselves in a car on Dinosaur. We had to buy the pic though lol you would think they would give you a free pic but it was nice to have one without a bunch of strangers in it.

That happened to our boys outside of the Pooh ride. There was a Dream Team member there. She told them that if they passed a quiz about Pooh and his friends, then she would make them Honorary Citizens of the Hundred Acre Woods. They got these cute certificates that were autographed by Pooh and his friends after they passed the quiz. DS who is 4 has asked me if I will frame the certificate. LOL!

OH! This thread made me look at my son's Jedi Training Academy certificates from Disneyland (he did it twice, once last December, once last April) -- guess those are dreams too! LOL LOL. Guess we aren't losers after all :goodvibes

Sometimes the little things are just as good or better than the big things! A little pixie dust goes a long way!
I think for me the biggest "dream" I can win, will be seeing my DS6 face in October when we get to the world!

yes it does seem that the little thigns are magical too! This time my son got ANOTHER YOMD certificate but I knew what it was when he got it. LOL.

We just returned from a trip to WDW and it was my ds's 3rd birthday and we got off the POC ride (his favorite) and they saw his button and made him Pirate of the Day! A Cm there took him on a treasure hunt in the POC store and my son found the treasure! It was a little bag of the plastic gems that they sell. And the CM gave him one of the Year of a Million Dream certificates again! My son was thrilled!
