I would like to take my family to dinner at Emeril's Tchoup Chop at the Royal Pacific. Is this restaurant appropriate for small children? It would be me, DH, DS-12, and 2 DD's 7 and 8.

What price range can I expect? Would $150 be way over, just making it or not enough for a budget?

TIA

Tina

I went last month with a co-worker who picked up the check, thankfully. We both had the Chef's tasting menu which was about as expensive as they have at $57 each. She had one drink drink and with a tip I overheartd her say it was $180. The opposite end is when I take my kids they both eat from the kid's menu and the lunch hamburger is only around $15. My daughter likes their chicken fingers which are around $10.

Wow, $15 for a hamburger.

The food is really good though, right? I wanted my family to have a special experience while at Universal. I ordered a $150 gift certificate, because I really like to ensure my budget is set. That would be about $45 for the kids and $52 for me and hubby. plus tip. And here I was worried that I'd have money left over.

Thanks for the info.

When I was there our dinner of two appetizers, two entrees, two desserts, and two glasses of wine was about $135 inlcuding tip.
Yes, the food is really good. They do have a kids menu.

hmm, maybe I should budget more ... or we'll all be eating kids meals :rotfl:

At Emeril's on South Beach the burger was $24 and wasn't very good. Tchoup Chop is good however.

We went with three adults, all had the chef's menu, one adult did the wine pairings -- which we REALLY regretted NOT doing -- and three mai-tais (the cheaper one ... not the one in the take-home glass). The damage was $280 with tip.

It was really worth it. Like I said, DH & I wished we'd done the pairings, tho.

Haven't been to this location but went to Emeril's with two friends and it was $180, and only two of us had a alcoholic beverage.

I ate there alone, dinner with one glass of wine and dessert was around $60, including tax and tip. Well worth every penny!

What did you have? We're going for the first time on Jan 3 and the menu looks so good.
