I used silk flowers, and I loved them!
I originally was going to go with a fresh bouquet, but I decided to go with silk for three main reasons:
- I got married at the end of July, and it was very hot! I didn't want to have to worry about keeping my flowers fresh looking for the whole day
- I
did want to be able to keep the bouquet and not pay the high prices for preservation (I had also heard that they take your bouquet away from you fairly quickly if you're going for preservation, and I wanted to keep it with me throughout the whole day!)
- our MK photoshoot was three days after the wedding, and I definitely would have needed a refreshed bouquet for that shoot
The price in silk was more than fresh, but when I added in the cost of a refreshed bouquet, the prices were very close. So, the idea of being able to keep it forever and not having to worry about how it lastest throughout the day pushed me to choose silk.
My floral coordinator was amazing. She emailed me pictures of different flowers as she hunted down just the right silks. She worked very hard to find silk flowers that were the right colours, and that looked real!
While I was waiting to leave for our DP from the AKL, I had numerous people come up to me to compliment my bouquet, and they couldn't believe it was fake. One lady even put her hand over the whole thing because she didn't believe me!
Here is the picture I gave my floral coordinator:
Here is what I got:
(There are pearls, crystals and Hidden Mickeys in my version...

I hope that helps!!
